I think I understand Haku's role. It can be one of several though if you are willfully willing to eliminate some roles from contention.

Due to the brutality of the deaths and everything that happened, Bruno could not stand the pressure and ended up committing suicide. In his letter he said he was one of the culprits of all that was happening.
