Making a mistake is not unnatural. If I had checked last game and see that there was no spy while I assumed there had been one, I would have given a different hint. And I did denied to some that I was a detective, I just felt it unneccessary to do it every time.
You can tell us if it is a night or day role and/or if it is active or not though.
Thank you. If I were mafia I'd either claim doctor or detective, those are easier to fake. Spy is too risky role to claim, it can be too easily uncovered to be a lie.

I have seen some interesting discussions today.
Either way, it seems like there are 2 detectives or at least two people who are claiming to be one (Maz and James right?).
Then xnut says he protects his friends, which could mean that he's either a doctor or a bodyguard...
As for the others, I don't really know, also because some them still didn't say much about their roles...
