Houses of Stormlands
House Baratheon
Description: House Baratheon is one of the Great Houses of Westeros, youngest of them, and is the principal house in the Stormlands. Its seat, Storm's End, is an ancient castle raised by the Storm Kings. Members of the family tend to be tall and powerfully built, with black hair and blue eyes, as well as strong, square jawlines. They are known for their mercurial tempers.
Relations: As Lords of Storm’s End, they have a lot of Houses sworn under them. In addition they have been getting along with the Starks and Arryns. Their history with the Lannisters is complicated, and they outright hate the Targaryens.
Heraldry: A crowned stag. “Ours is the fury”. Seated in Storm’s End.
House Swann
Description: Marcher lords from the Dornish marches, known to defend the Stormlands from the dornish raiders and sometimes the invasions from The Reach. An old noble house, regarded as proud, powerful and cautious. They have governed their lands for as long as any can remember. They control the Slayne, a major river route inland to the stormlands, gaining them much wealth and power. They are probably the second most powerful and influential family in the stormlands, after the Baratheons
Relations: Sworn to House Baratheon. Hate the dornish, and thus the Martells.
Heraldry: Black and white swans. Seated in Stonehelm.
House Seaworth
Description: A very young house, founded by a smugler and a former pirate who was granted knighthood and lands after breaking through a Redwyne cordon and smugling onions to a starving Baratheon garrison.
Relations: Sworn to House Baratheon. Not many houses approve this newcomer. ”Filthy smuglers, not lords” think many.
Heraldry: A boat with an onion on the sail
House Connington
Description: Once wealthy and powerful noble house, no merely a knighted one with with most of their lands lost, divided between the supporters of the Baratheons. Exiled with the Targaryens, they remain fiercely loyal to the them.
Relations: Sworn to House Targaryen. Do not approve of the Baratheons or the Lannisters.
Heraldry: Two fighting griffins, red and white.
Houses of the Reach
House Tyrell
Description: Is one of the Great Houses of the Seven Kingdoms, being overlords over the Reach, following the legacy of the gardening kings. A large, wealthy house, its wealth is only surpassed among the Great Houses by House Lannister. The Tyrells can field the greatest armies. Additionally, if they call the fleets of their bannermen they can command a navy that might be the most fearsome of Westeros.Tyrells style themselves 'Defenders of the Marches' and 'High Marshals of the Reach', and traditionally, they have been Wardens of the South. Members of the family tend to have curly brown hair and brown or golden eyes.
Relations: Frequently in war with the dornishmen, they hate the Martells. They have often found allies in the Lannisters.
Heraldry: A golden rose. “Growing Strong”. Seated in Highgarden.
House Redwyne
Description: House Redwyne is one of the main noble houses sworn to Tyrells of Highgarden. Their seat is on an island south of the Whispering Sound. Redwyne is a powerful house with strong ties to the Tyrells, and provides a significant portion of the fleet of the Reach, owning 200 warships and five times as many merchant vessels. They are known for their great wines. Members of the house tend to be freckled and red of hair.
Relations: Sworn to Tyrell. Very influential thanks to their ships, navy and merchant.
Heraldry: A grape cluster. Seated in the Arbor.
Houses of the Riverlands:
House Tully:
Description: One of the Great Houses. Members of the family tend to have auburn hair, high cheekbones, and bright blue eyes. Unlike many Great Houses the Tullys never ruled as kings, but held Riverrun for a thousand years as powerful vassals of those who did. Know they are known to be a strong and solid presence in Westeros, ruling over the lands around the great river of Trident.
Relations: As liege lords of the riverlands, they have many houses sworn under them.
Heraldry: A leaping trout on blue and red. “Family. Duty. Honor.” Seated in Riverrun.
House Bracken
Description: An old house in the riverlands, one of the main families sworn to House Tully. They were once kings in the riverlands, but that was a long long ago.
Relations: Sworn to House Tully. Hate the Blackwoods.
Heraldry: A stallion. Seat in Stone Hedge.
House Whent
Description: A noble house from the riverlands, originally a family of knights. Their seat is the huge castle of Harrenhal, built hundreds of years ago by legendary Harren the Black.The once magnificent castle however is today merely a ruin, burned black by dragon fire during the Targaryen invasion. The Whents are the seventh noble house to rule Harrenhal, castle said to be cursed for those who try to rule it. Thought to be extinct house, but a distant heir has been found.
Relations: Sworn to House Tully
Heraldry: 9 black bats
House Mallister:
Description: One of the most prominent noble houses from the riverlands. They have a long history fighting the ironborn, and were among the first Westerosi noble families to support Aegon Targaryen during the conquest
Relations: Sworn to House Tully. Not too fond of the Ironborn. Early Targaryen supporters, but were among the ones fighting in the rebellion which lead to Targaryen exile.
Heraldry: Silver eagle. “Above the rest”. Seat in Seagard
The Vale
House Arryn
Description: A great house, wardens of the east, carrying the purest Andal bloodline of all the noble houses. Surrounded by mountains and tricky coast, The Vale is hard to invade, and their castle Eyerie is said to be impregnable. The land there is nutritious, making the Vale rather well sustained. They have lately stayed on their own, tending to their own problems, but that powerfull a hoose can’t stay out of the game for long.
Relations: As wardens of the east, the Arryns have many families sworn to them. They have lately been in good relations with Baratheons and the Starks.
Heraldry: A white falcon and a moon. “High as Honor”. Seated in Eyerie.
House Baelish
Description: Young, small and originally a very poor house from the coastal Fingers. The founder was a bravoosi sellsword, and his son merely a small lord. But with the talent of lord Petyr Baelish, the house gained a vast fortune and influense. They are known for owning and running several brothels around Westeros, a business very profitable in cash and secrects.
Relations: Sworn to House Arryn. Infatuated with Tullies. Many look down on the quick upriser and the methods of his business.
Heraldry: A field of mockingjays, adopted by Petyr Baelish. Originally the stony head of Titan of Braavos.
Dragonstone and Crownlands
House Targaryen:
Description: Dragonlords from Old Valyria in Essos, across the Narrow Sea. They have conquered Westeros once, and ruled well as a long dynasty, and they are now willing to take it all back. They have silvery hair and violet eyes. And dragons. They are known to be strong, intelligent and respected leaders, but with a hint of madness in their blood.
Relations: As former rulers of Westeros, they have had their history with pretty much every House of the realm, especially with the Great Houses. However during their reign they were well considered by most of the families, notably by the Martells and Conningtons. However, their actions finally angered the Baratheons and the Starks, leading to the rebellion that eventually lead to their exile from Westeros. Starks don’t hold that huge a grudge, but the Baratheons are furious.
Heraldry: Three-headed Dragon. “Fire and blood”. Seated in Dragonstone.
Dorne
House Martell:
Description: One of the Great Houses of Westeros and is the ruling house of Dorne. They have dark eyes, dark hair in ringlets, and olive skin. For long the Martell were one of the lesser ruling families of Dorne, serving as vassals to many kings coming and going. However after legendary warrior princess Nymeria arrived with her rhoynish people and navy and married Mors Martell, the Nymeros Martell line united Dorne and have ruled ever since. They were the only one of the Seven Kingdoms capable of protecting themselves from the Targaryen Conguest and fend of the invaders. They ruled as Princes of Dorne, even after marrying into House Targaryen and officially becoming of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. The title has been passed down the family, and has not been tied to gender.
Relations: People of the Reach and Stormlands do not approve the dornishmen. The Martells themselves carry a massive hate against the Lannisters and particularly The House Clegane for murdering innocent Targaryen/Martell child heirs.
Heraldry: Sun pierced with a spear. “Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken”. Seat in Sunspear.
House Dayne
Description: House Dayne of Starfall are one of the most ancient houses in the Seven Kingdoms, claiming ancestry dating back ten thousand years to the dawn of days. They are most famed for the greatsword Dawn, said to be created from the heart of falling star. The sword has been passed in the house only to the worthy, the wielder claiming the title of Sword of the Morning. All of them becoming great and famous knights. They are brown-haired or blond with pale faces that are freckled or burned by the sun instead of browned, as they are stony dornish men, with andal and first men blood mixed in their veins. They often have violet eyes.
Relations: Sworn to House Martell. They have a history of conflict with the Reach, Tyrells and namely Oakhearts. They have sided with the Targaryens before, and are not that good with the Baratheons either.
Heraldry: Sword and a falling star. Seated in Starfall.
Iron Islands
House Greyjoy
Description: Great House that rules over the Iron Islands, a harsh and bleak collection of forbidding islands off the west coast of Westeros. Residents of the Iron Islands are known as ironborn, and worship the Drowned God of the sea. They have a history of raiding and pillaging villages on the west and south coasts of Westeros, paying the “iron price” for the goods they need. However they have usually been subdued by the Seven Kingdoms. The Greyjoys have long isolated themselves from the politics of Westeros, and with the realm in chaotic order, they’re once again praising their old habit as looters and pillagers, raiding villages of the coast.
Relations: Sworn to no one. Not well liked by the Starks, or Tyrells. No notable allies.
Heraldry: A golden kraken. “We do not sow”. Seated in Pyke.
But it's for the best, i guess.
Such a shame, no chance of us becoming lovers!
