Because he neither wrote vote kill nor vote rob, just vote. It made no sense.

I don't think it was that hard to figure out

If votes can be changed before the day phase ends, why be so particular about how it's phrased?

Maybe because if one, for X reasons, cannot change his vote although she/he wanted to, before the end of the day phase, one could argue that by writing 'vote Blackbelt Gary' (for instance) without the proper form/words, one did not 'vote rob Blackbelt Gary' but instead hinted (or taunted like Evil thought) others into choosing to 'vote rob Blackbelt Gary' ?
Following the proper etiquette seems important to me there, since in that case, one would only have herself/himself to blame for missing her/his real goal.

Baka could be joking about that, that's why he used a different sentence (since Herm considered DD's one) and if someone got lynched 'cause of Baka's vote and he was just kidding that could be a headache xD
