Okay...but twice as many posts as me? TWICE?Maybe because I had to save my ass from an 8 people bandwagon? Did you think about that?

Again, depends on the game size and convenience of those involved.I can only suggest shorter periods. I think 16-18 hours for Day phases sounds manageable for all, no?
Yup. 8 people are a lot.Okay...but twice as many posts as me? TWICE?
So on top of people trying to be smart with their words in a game of deception, they also have to worry that they don't go over the limit? No thanks. There is no point in assigning or trying to avoid blame. Everyone is responsible, lets just try to find a workable solution to it.
What about personal posts limiting by day phase. So you can only post 50 (or 100 etc) posts per phase, anything more and you're punished some way.
That gets past the locking of the thread for everyone and also means the posters who post a lot will have to try and limit themselves. It can also be easily seen so that there isnt an excuse of not knowing.
My prefered limit would be 100 posts per phase. A 100 post limit per phase for example is not a worry, its full-on spam.So on top of people trying to be smart with their words in a game of deception, they also have to worry that they don't go over the limit? No thanks.

For that reason, the game setup is in Brazil o.o.Everyone tried to get rid of me. Brazilians in day 1, everyone in day 3. Even Faust had the chance.
I'm invincible![]()

Yeah, I don't think a upper limit is healthy for a Mafia Game either. That could pretty much kill it.So on top of people trying to be smart with their words in a game of deception, they also have to worry that they don't go over the limit? No thanks.
Again? I don't think it matters that much on the size of the game i.e. how many players there are. On super long days (24h+) players are rather very lax and let themselves a lot of time, staving off what they got to say and who to vote for "because there is still so much time left". I think at least that could be reduced by shortening the days, and it does sound like a start to me.Again, depends on the game size and convenience of those involved.
It feels like it's overly strict to me, that's all. And yeah yeah, I have a stupid amount of posts...but still. My prefered limit would be 100 posts per phase. A 100 post limit per phase for example is not a worry, its full-on spam.
Besides it does not mean dont get to say what they want to say, it means they have to make longer posts to say what they want to say. They will think twice about posting "yep, but do you have a night role?" and would add that into a longer post. It promotes longer posts rather than shorter one line relevant messages.

It's the small posts that are the problem. There has to be a way on encouraging people to post longer posts rather than a million one-liners. There is a distinct lack of paragraphs throughout this entire game.I think it ties in with the edit issue too. For example often I'll finish a post and almost immediately make a new post with just a single line or something that I wanted to add to the other post. Sometimes it's not IMMEDIATELY but editing the post will just get you into trouble so might as well just make a new post. In between for those 30 seconds one or more people have made post and as such you make two posts instead of one. No real way to solve this however since edits are an issue, but I'm merely pointing out it heavily contributes. I bet I have made a ton such posts this game where I post and shortly after make another post, whether small or bigger.
You can just click show posts, and it will list everyone and their current posts. It feels like it's overly strict to me, that's all. And yeah yeah, I have a stupid amount of posts...but still.
The activity of the thread removes double-posts from being merged and I don't know of any practical way to put constraints on the amount of posts players make per phase. Who's going to be counting them each phase?
In what way can kill it? As long as it does not discourage discussion which I dont know if it does or does not without it really being tested tbh.Yeah, I don't think a upper limit is healthy for a Mafia Game either. That could pretty much kill it.
But can you image how it would be if everybody would post like Haku does? D:It's the small posts that are the problem. There has to be a way on encouraging people to post longer posts rather than a million one-liners. There is a distinct lack of paragraphs throughout this entire game.

Better? But can you image how it would be if everybody would post like Haku does? D:
When a lot of people are in the thread and it's going rapid-fire, there won't be merged-doubleposts. And editing stuff in to a post is risky since people will miss it. The pace is a reason for this...I don't know how to change that. It's the small posts that are the problem. There has to be a way on encouraging people to post longer posts rather than a million one-liners. There is a distinct lack of paragraphs throughout this entire game.
Yea, but math. If its 100 per phase, next phase its 200 (so you make sure everyone is below 200posts), next phase 300 (so you make sure everyone is below 300). I was about to end that very sarcastically but you can guess what day 4 is like. :PPer thread, not per phase.
And who's counting them? Every player needs to take it upon themselves to do that? Or will the hosts do it? And if we install some sort of plugin for it, all of a sudden a player can't post because they reached their limit, what if someone asks them or them have to explain themselves? Sorry, this idea is pretty flawed IMO.
What if we have a different thread for each phase?Per thread, not per phase.
