I‘ve been told that several people are planning to host games, so to avoid any problems like people cutting into each other‘s game signups and other things we may need a schedule of games.

For anyone who plans to host a game, you can either write in this thread for what month/day you‘re planning a game or edit it in the schedule yourself if you can.

Note that there‘s no limit to how many games can be had per month, but try not to have 2 games running at the same time.

All you have to do is go to >>this thread<< and press Watch on the top corner of the thread. I or a host will post there and notify everyone like this whenever a new game starts.

While hosting overall isn't necessarily hard, it's very easy to mess things up as we have seen plenty of times already. This naturally happens more often with newer hosts.

In order to get these new hosts familiar with how the game works behind the scenes and make it a smoother experience for everyone (no one wants a cancelled game!), we are establishing these sets of rules that follow the methods that have been used in the last 50 games:

-If it's your first time hosting, it's MANDATORY to have the help of someone that has hosted before. As long as they aren't banned, it doesn't matter if this person hosted twenty times or just once. This experienced host will be the "Main Host", while the new one assumes the role of "co-host".
-Tasks will be split in a rather equal manner so that the Main Host can keep things in check while the Co-host gets hands-on experience to learn properly.
-The Main Host has the final say when it comes to decisions (ideally, this won't need to be enforced heavily, it's mostly to avoid possible issues).

Once the game is over, the co-host can host on their own and even take the role of "experienced host" for a new host in need!

Time is usually dependant on the time at which it begins and the best timeframe available for hosts to perform their tasks.

For example, we expect to open the game's Day 1 around Saturday evening in CET time. From there Day 1 would last 24 natural hours and after it a 12 hour night cycle. We might extend night cycles too for a better experience in all timezones.

As game keeps progressing we may aswell start reducing the game's timeframe to fit the number of players to make it faster. For example, Day 5 might last 20 hours instead of 24.

As demon said all previous game can be found in section, tho i just recommend reading the rules more than reading a previous game, you can also do both if you want tho but to me rules were enough when i started, and i just confusingly rolled with everything xD

Second advice is if you have any questions while you're playing, just ask hosts

You can use the link provided by Demon in the previous post and check the previous game. For the rules you only really need to understand the first post with the game structure and main functions. You can learn about roles (2nd post) on the run while you are playing, its easier with experience.

@ShijimaTheSilentMan here are some quick do and don't.

- if you spawn mafia, you won't be able to talk to your team on D1, you will need to wait for N1 to talk to them, so lay low, don't say anything that can be used against you, like providing an information only mafia would know.
- if mafia, try to distance your self from your teammates, don't vote to save a team mate, it never ends well.
- if you have a good role like spy, don't worry too much, mafia won't night kill you, they are too busy killing Gry, Farf and others.
- if you spawn town, mafia will try to get you lynched, but only after D3, as any earlier than that, will be too obvious, trying to get a new player lynched early is frowned upon.
- if town, stay consistent, don't lie, use your role to gather info, D3 onward you will need all this to survive their attempts at shading you.
- if you get doctor use it on Gry/Farf/Van/evileye, if they die it means (99%, they could have used a strongman) you are insane so use it on people you think are mafia in the remaining nights.
- don't vote me on D1, I'm a very nice guy that will listen to you no matter what happens, even if I'm mafia xD
- keep a list of people you don't trust, but also a list of people you trust, but as the game get smaller and smaller, be open to the idea that somebody you trusted the whole game could be a mafia, fighting or voting other mafias, but late game only, early game it better to trust people, if they are voting properly.
- hosts are super happy to talk to you and they expect you will have a million questions, usually they will reply in a sarcastic way (I'm looking at you @Copy Panda xD) but with new players they will be as helpful we humanly possible.

In the day phase:
Each player can vote another player, the person with the highest vote is lynched at the end of the day.

Each player can change their vote once, the second vote is called a locked vote, and is stronger than a normal vote, if 2 players have the same amount of votes, the one that has more locked votes is lynched.

You can cast locked votes directly if you want to, but then you can't change your vote anymore.

In the night phase:
In a private mafia pad, mafia decides who to kill and who will perform the kill.

The mafia member that performs the kill can't use their role in that night.
