Scheduling

I‘ve been told that several people are planning to host games, so to avoid any problems like people cutting into each other‘s game signups and other things we may need a schedule of games.

For anyone who plans to host a game, you can either write in this thread for what month/day you‘re planning a game or edit it in the schedule yourself if you can.

Note that there‘s no limit to how many games can be had per month, but try not to have 2 games running at the same time.

Sign-ups!

To everyone who usually plays MG or those that don‘t want to miss signups, we‘re testing a new way to alert everyone to a new game instead of mass tags before each game.

All you have to do is go to >>this thread<< and press Watch on the top corner of the thread. I or a host will post there and notify everyone like this whenever a new game starts.

[Original Post]

While hosting overall isn't necessarily hard, it's very easy to mess things up as we have seen plenty of times already. This naturally happens more often with newer hosts.

In order to get these new hosts familiar with how the game works behind the scenes and make it a smoother experience for everyone (no one wants a cancelled game!), we are establishing these sets of rules that follow the methods that have been used in the last 50 games:

-If it's your first time hosting, it's MANDATORY to have the help of someone that has hosted before. As long as they aren't banned, it doesn't matter if this person hosted twenty times or just once. This experienced host will be the "Main Host", while the new one assumes the role of "co-host".
-Tasks will be split in a rather equal manner so that the Main Host can keep things in check while the Co-host gets hands-on experience to learn properly.
-The Main Host has the final say when it comes to decisions (ideally, this won't need to be enforced heavily, it's mostly to avoid possible issues).

Once the game is over, the co-host can host on their own and even take the role of "experienced host" for a new host in need!

first day should be 30-48h since its the day where there are most post and it didn't start a week end. Started at 11pm at my time, shortly before i go to bed. woke up, spent the day at work, got home at 6pm, do miscelleanous task til 7pm. Sit to play and i see i have 3h to read 400+ post. c'mon @Farfalla give an extension

Also, that's why the rules say you can let the host(s) know if you have something preventing you from participating in one of the phases :bnah

In theory if it has more hours it will have more posts for you to read anyway?

A lot of people usually miss on the first day or barely post in it, and activity peaks the days after (which will be on a weekend for this game). There is no real perfect answer for this anyway, for some people weekends are actually more complicated or the date being some days later could be bad for them.

depend, if they keep posting every minute like they're on steroids or something for sure i'll have more post to read :lmao

but it doesn't work that way. Most people have a busy period and a free period during their day, so far the game was on my busy period now i'm in my free period til tomorrow morning, so having more time mean i can catch up even if there are more post

. Also there'll be less people on the following days, less spam/roleplays posts and more content so past the first day it get easier to follow. And while some people are busier the week end. The majority have more free time the week end. why the rush on the first day?

There is no rush though? 24 hours should be plenty of time, and we started and plan to end in times where the most quantity of people will be available.

A couple of people less wont change the fact that day 2 is usually the most posted day in the game.

Perhaps if you spent less time complaining here you'd have more time for the game? In any case, if you need time there is always this:

give me the time room (not sure how it's called in the anime). 24h are enough, the thing is everybody live on a different time (i'm on GMT +0). For some people the game start right after work, which make it easier for them to follow (America). for some other the game start right before bed or work so they end up with ton of posts to read while being exhausted at the end of the day. Extended day 1 just give the time to everyone to adjust and to have time to analyse the posts and do some constructive vote rather than doing random vote just to not be hostkilled. It increase the quality of the game.

Sry, Frenchie. Tomorrow is gonna be a complicated day for us to follow with an extension (due to our own schedule, and we gotta try to be around as much as possible compared to players having to post eventually), in the end the Day had over 25h as well. Even if this day ends up lacking better activity from some, I think it's still doable to all to at least reach the quota. I can afirm you that without going further into it. So yeah, maybe that's something to be discussed for future games, in this one we won't be able to adapt it for now.
