I‘ve been told that several people are planning to host games, so to avoid any problems like people cutting into each other‘s game signups and other things we may need a schedule of games.
For anyone who plans to host a game, you can either write in this thread for what month/day you‘re planning a game or edit it in the schedule yourself if you can.
Note that there‘s no limit to how many games can be had per month, but try not to have 2 games running at the same time.
Sign-ups!
To everyone who usually plays MG or those that don‘t want to miss signups, we‘re testing a new way to alert everyone to a new game instead of mass tags before each game.
All you have to do is go to>>this thread<<and press Watch on the top corner of the thread. I or a host will post there and notify everyone like this whenever a new game starts.
While hosting overall isn't necessarily hard, it's very easy to mess things up as we have seen plenty of times already. This naturally happens more often with newer hosts.
In order to get these new hosts familiar with how the game works behind the scenes and make it a smoother experience for everyone (no one wants a cancelled game!), we are establishing these sets of rules that follow the methods that have been used in the last 50 games:
-If it's your first time hosting, it's MANDATORY to have the help of someone that has hosted before. As long as they aren't banned, it doesn't matter if this person hosted twenty times or just once. This experienced host will be the "Main Host", while the new one assumes the role of "co-host".
-Tasks will be split in a rather equal manner so that the Main Host can keep things in check while the Co-host gets hands-on experience to learn properly.
-The Main Host has the final say when it comes to decisions (ideally, this won't need to be enforced heavily, it's mostly to avoid possible issues).
Once the game is over, the co-host can host on their own and even take the role of "experienced host" for a new host in need!
Hmm I'm pretty sure there's a lot of unofficial princesses that pass as disney princesses, so you can still take that theme. You could also just take your favorite anime evil, or your favorite of the ones above.
No with more players it´s best the odds of getting killed off decrease and when it´s getting too much players, the mod in charge of the game can put one or two extra ways to kill players (like the 10% duel thing) and the game has more diverse roles as well.
Dont worry about that there can always be a couple of inactivists saving their comments for later too.
Though if it serves as a help, I will remove my WT signature when the game starts just to have more space for the comments in the pages.
The 'don't nominate other players, let them sign up themselves' comment was valid, but I agree that more people makes the mafia game more fun to play considering it adds more complexity to the games
Since we don't get to play the game a lot, I'd say that's a good thing

Yeah and with more players there are more targets for some of the special roles as well, which is more fun to do than with less players, though, it might be bad in terms of having to deal with lots of mafias.
If I remember correctly 2 players got killed by the 10% duel thing in the last game, so that is the equivalent, of 2 day and night phase kills, so it´s possible to make sure the game doesnt last a lot even with 20+ players and there are also roles that can get other players killed off without having any need for mafia kills or day phase lynches (like the cowboy role, or some of the 3rd party ones, or the suicidal ones, etc...) If the game were to have less players there wouldnt be much of a sense in have a lot of roles relying of kills, to make the game have a more fast pace, case there wont be much targets and it could end way too fast.
True, but there are ways to avoid that with certain roles, in certain cases, though, nobody survives a lynch, there are roles that can be given to players to make the whole game last much less, if it gets too many players, there are roles that even kill you off at certain time anyway, so it´s not like having more players can mean the game will last longer.
