I‘ve been told that several people are planning to host games, so to avoid any problems like people cutting into each other‘s game signups and other things we may need a schedule of games.
For anyone who plans to host a game, you can either write in this thread for what month/day you‘re planning a game or edit it in the schedule yourself if you can.
Note that there‘s no limit to how many games can be had per month, but try not to have 2 games running at the same time.
Sign-ups!
To everyone who usually plays MG or those that don‘t want to miss signups, we‘re testing a new way to alert everyone to a new game instead of mass tags before each game.
All you have to do is go to>>this thread<<and press Watch on the top corner of the thread. I or a host will post there and notify everyone like this whenever a new game starts.
While hosting overall isn't necessarily hard, it's very easy to mess things up as we have seen plenty of times already. This naturally happens more often with newer hosts.
In order to get these new hosts familiar with how the game works behind the scenes and make it a smoother experience for everyone (no one wants a cancelled game!), we are establishing these sets of rules that follow the methods that have been used in the last 50 games:
-If it's your first time hosting, it's MANDATORY to have the help of someone that has hosted before. As long as they aren't banned, it doesn't matter if this person hosted twenty times or just once. This experienced host will be the "Main Host", while the new one assumes the role of "co-host".
-Tasks will be split in a rather equal manner so that the Main Host can keep things in check while the Co-host gets hands-on experience to learn properly.
-The Main Host has the final say when it comes to decisions (ideally, this won't need to be enforced heavily, it's mostly to avoid possible issues).
Once the game is over, the co-host can host on their own and even take the role of "experienced host" for a new host in need!
Aw, so the mafia won. Two of them will most likely get into the next round then, seems unlikely that any townie was able to get enough points. Still good game Digi, you survived till the very end! Congrats!!!
They're just shitting with ya. I've read all the pages and you really tried your hardest to get used to the game and its participants. A bit boring there were SO MANY Vanilla Townies. I really like the Detective Conan Mafia/Mangahelpers Mafia games more with all their active and passive Townie roles as well as plenty of Mafia roles. Heck DC Mafia got mafia roles like mafia thief or mafia sniper or mafia disguise, etc. Those few roles seems pretty barebone to me.
Well they had a special vote tag that you could use to vote for people and a button that could display the total vote count and how much time was left any time you wanted, pretty awesome.

In their games the mafia could discuss with themselves in day and night phase and nearly everyone was vanilla townie. I don't like that part.
Yeah, similar to the DC mafia game. There you could talk via pm to whoever you wanted during the day which got pretty confusing if you tried to follow the conversation in the game thread and the many you had on your own pm account.

I followed the game a bit too. The vote functions were amazing. I also liked that the idea was closer to the original, with less emphasis on variety of roles that mix up everything in a second in certain situation. More back to reading everything to make a read of a player and determine if something doesn't add-up. However the daytime mafia chat imho gives the mafia way too much power. Coordinated plays that can be deviced in any situation, just wow. I like the night-time chat. Just the limited time to strategize and then you just have to somehow discreetly try communicate in game or just trust your teammates judgement. Thats more akin to the original party game. You knew your team, but couldn't really communicate. Your advantage to town was knowledge. In the daychat option, the mafia have two adtantages, knowledge and communication.
I'm still waiting to see my Catlady getting approved. Maybe I can get a similar role for mafia named Stalker who has a risk getting discovered observing people and their roles at night.

Sounds 3rd persony xD.
Make it so that stalker could kill a hider...maybe even make detective have a lower probability because they are being "tailed"...idk
