I‘ve been told that several people are planning to host games, so to avoid any problems like people cutting into each other‘s game signups and other things we may need a schedule of games.
For anyone who plans to host a game, you can either write in this thread for what month/day you‘re planning a game or edit it in the schedule yourself if you can.
Note that there‘s no limit to how many games can be had per month, but try not to have 2 games running at the same time.
Sign-ups!
To everyone who usually plays MG or those that don‘t want to miss signups, we‘re testing a new way to alert everyone to a new game instead of mass tags before each game.
All you have to do is go to>>this thread<<and press Watch on the top corner of the thread. I or a host will post there and notify everyone like this whenever a new game starts.
While hosting overall isn't necessarily hard, it's very easy to mess things up as we have seen plenty of times already. This naturally happens more often with newer hosts.
In order to get these new hosts familiar with how the game works behind the scenes and make it a smoother experience for everyone (no one wants a cancelled game!), we are establishing these sets of rules that follow the methods that have been used in the last 50 games:
-If it's your first time hosting, it's MANDATORY to have the help of someone that has hosted before. As long as they aren't banned, it doesn't matter if this person hosted twenty times or just once. This experienced host will be the "Main Host", while the new one assumes the role of "co-host".
-Tasks will be split in a rather equal manner so that the Main Host can keep things in check while the Co-host gets hands-on experience to learn properly.
-The Main Host has the final say when it comes to decisions (ideally, this won't need to be enforced heavily, it's mostly to avoid possible issues).
Once the game is over, the co-host can host on their own and even take the role of "experienced host" for a new host in need!
On that note, do you already have an idea of what kind of game it will be? With role changes or special abilities like Stands, or a more simple one with fewer roles?
Well, people have been wanting to replace After_Image as the official D1 sacrifice for a while.
I thought Zasz would take the spot but maybe you're aiming for it '-' ?

Since Randi is playing.. let's summon @DiMaria Yesta to play as well.
I wouldn't mind seeing them killing each other... eeerhmm.. I mean having a good time? Yes that's what I mean!
Well 1/3rd of the players are still pending so several could still drop out. I expect ~17 players, if you don't have the time no need to force yourself.
You would actually be perfect for a mafia game now that I think about it Sure, think about it until the 18th and let me know. Sometimes a game is less active so it's easier to follow and play, and there's plenty of people being largely afk and still playing fine. Right @Zasz ?

@SirSamuel016 would be pretty good for such a game too. Wanna play?
At the start of the game, each player is secretly assigned a role affiliated with one of these teams: an informed minority, the mafia, and an uninformed majority, the innocents (the "town" or "townies"). At the start of the game, every mafioso is given the identities of their teammates, whereas the innocents only receive the number of mafiosi in the game, and do not know which players are mafia and which are innocents.
The game has two alternating phases: night, during which the mafia may covertly "murder" an innocent, and day, in which surviving players debate the identities of the mafia and vote to "lynch", or eliminate, a suspect. These phases alternate with each other until all mafioso have been eliminated or until the mafia outnumbers the innocents.
Some players may be given roles with special abilities. Common special roles include:
Detective - an innocent who may learn the team of one player every night;
Doctor - an innocent who may protect a player from being killed every night;
Barman - a mafioso who may cancel the effect of another role's ability every night.
We have a few differences in rules and roles on MH (the Barman being a good example), but that's the gist of it. Copied it from Wikipedia, because laziness should be answered with laziness
Just a correction: the non-mafia players aren't informed about the numbers of any party (town x mafia x third party) o/
It's worth mentioning that the town and third party players also may have actions to perform during the night phase (which you demonstrated in the rest of the post, but yeah xD ). Also, the town wins when they eliminate all of the members in the other parties (mafia and third party) while the rest wins when they achieve the same number of players as the town (different parties can't sum numbers, tho).
