I‘ve been told that several people are planning to host games, so to avoid any problems like people cutting into each other‘s game signups and other things we may need a schedule of games.
For anyone who plans to host a game, you can either write in this thread for what month/day you‘re planning a game or edit it in the schedule yourself if you can.
Note that there‘s no limit to how many games can be had per month, but try not to have 2 games running at the same time.
Sign-ups!
To everyone who usually plays MG or those that don‘t want to miss signups, we‘re testing a new way to alert everyone to a new game instead of mass tags before each game.
All you have to do is go to>>this thread<<and press Watch on the top corner of the thread. I or a host will post there and notify everyone like this whenever a new game starts.
While hosting overall isn't necessarily hard, it's very easy to mess things up as we have seen plenty of times already. This naturally happens more often with newer hosts.
In order to get these new hosts familiar with how the game works behind the scenes and make it a smoother experience for everyone (no one wants a cancelled game!), we are establishing these sets of rules that follow the methods that have been used in the last 50 games:
-If it's your first time hosting, it's MANDATORY to have the help of someone that has hosted before. As long as they aren't banned, it doesn't matter if this person hosted twenty times or just once. This experienced host will be the "Main Host", while the new one assumes the role of "co-host".
-Tasks will be split in a rather equal manner so that the Main Host can keep things in check while the Co-host gets hands-on experience to learn properly.
-The Main Host has the final say when it comes to decisions (ideally, this won't need to be enforced heavily, it's mostly to avoid possible issues).
Once the game is over, the co-host can host on their own and even take the role of "experienced host" for a new host in need!
On the random thing, imo, I can see benefits of both sides...but technically, the roles are supposed to be randomized. The fact that someone gets a role repeatedly doesn't make it any less random. It's because players go in knowing that roles are randomized that you can't simply say X has been this so many times so he probably is or isn't (even though some still use that argument XD). Altering the list already negates the randomness. We're on the topic of lovers now, but what if someone picks up another statistic like that, or are we being specific because its lover? On the other hand, I can see how repeatedly getting a role you don't like might irk but imo, it's part of the game. You (and everyone else) go in knowing you can be any role.

Also, please there will be no more warnings. More game talk will result in Penalties.
well actually i was only trying to build a true peace between Townies and Mafia, so everyone could leave happily whether they're green, blue, pink, red, or orange,in this place called MH
I get what you mean but I don‘t agree at all because I don‘t see it doing any harm to the game whatsoever. They are secondary roles on a townie and a mafia. You don‘t have to reshuffle everything, you could randomly swap the mafia lover with one of his mafia teammates, and randomly swap the townie lover with one other townie player. It changes little to nothing, only lets new people experience a secondary role.
Whether people know that goes on or not is more of a gray area to me. The difference here is you pointed out this weird coincidence and something needing to be done about it. So the next time you host and Daws or desin is playing, one could make the assumption with decent certainty that they won't be Lovers, and that's basically gamebreaking to me.

I pointed out that I'm not sure whether something should be done about that. I don't see knowing 2 out of 24 players not being Lovers to be anything close to gamebreaking. The whole game may not have Lovers, and they both could still be mafias or any other role. The argument of them not being Lovers doesn't help any player with anything, be it at day or night. But I suppose this needs some more thinking about

Maybe, but that doesn't apply to all roles. 10 games down the road, what happens if someone is upset about being Mafia way too often? Or Prostitute? Then what? I don't think an exception should be made for any role.
Never...but im sure lovers are hated because one death is tied to the other.
Im glad i never had it nor ever want it.
But every game i hope im Serial Killer.

I understand that fully....but usually its not the merriest of unions.
Very seldom do you see the lovers working together...it always ends in betrayal.
But i get it....i just dont like it.
