When are roles announced?

You get a PM with your role right before the Game starts.

A list I will provide in the first night phase latest.

When is night phrase and what happens if my time zone can't let me be available during night phrase or I can't be available at that time?

I assume the game still continues and, if you are a townie, your say on who is a mafia member gets skipped. Is this correct? This means that for a townie, morning phases are a lot important than evening ones.

The night phases start right after the day, which is normally 24h. Nights are usually a bit shorter, as one only need to do one single action - a PM to the host with your move, that only if your role has one. I usually wait until all PMs are in, if someone is taking too long though, and the time is expired (about 12-16h), well then the player wasted his move.

Empirically it is not a too troublesome to come online once per night, so...
but if you know it in advance that you won't be there, PM the Host and ask for an exception.
