FYI, Arlong Park have activated the plugin just fine on their board.

The basic service had a yearly fee of $799 but it seems there's now a discount on the price. The free version still requires users to buy Tapatalk Forum App, we'll consider the possibilities and decide whether or not we'll install Tapatalk or another mobile forum application and, in such a case, how we'll implement it.

Thank you for considering this. Hopefully you'll go with Tapatalk. I understand that users are required to buy the app for their own use, but it's a great investment from an end-user's PoV. It's enabled me to keep up with many a forum in changing times and is one of my favourite apps for that very reason. Well, you guys already know, you've seen how long I've been advocating for you all to install plugin here. Thank you again for taking the time to re-review the idea.

my sports website is PHPbb and we have a mobile app that doesnt cost us jack squat

now vbulletin is a bit less buggy and doesnt have the spam problems, but is it really 800 more per license to be able to run a mobile app?

We have already made it clear that the automerge function is a useful tool for preventing double posts. Under no circumstances will the allowed time between posts be reduced to a period as short as one or two days.

the automerging of posts that are back to back in one thread is not a problem for the posters at all

i am speaking from the perspective of someone who both posts on a website run by others, and runs a message board website

on boards that have alot of traffic, double-posting is largely viewed as spam, so by merging someones post with the previous post, thus making it look like the same post (with the post added on XXXX date auto message) all it is doing is reducing clutter. i promise you that if you guys allowed double posting you would have more people complaining , than those who are complaining about the auto-merge

one thing you have to keep in mind when administrating a message board, is that you cannot make every poster happy, thus it is better to always consider what is better for the site itself

No, it's not, it's a default vBulletin feature, members can see the edit history of their own posts by clicking on "Last edited by..." text.

After some thought, I think you should try to improve the searching feature for manga titles. This is what i mean:
Shuumatsu no Laughter a.k.a LAUGHTER In The End of The World.
In order to find this title, you have to search for Shuumatsu no Laughter or Laughter as a keyword. `Cause if you try typing LAUGHTER In The End of The World, there are not results.
Just as Aoi Hana a.k.a Sweet Blue Flowers.
In order to find this title, you have to search for Sweet Blue Flowers or Sweet, Blue, Flowers as keywords. `Cause if you try typing Aoi Hana, Fleurs bleues or 青い花, there are not results.

I didn't work on the search code but I guess it may require quite a lot of work to extend the capabilities of it in that manner. As an alternative, you can use google to do more complex searches. Just add inurl:mangahelpers.com/m next to the manga keyword in google search box and it'll give results from our manga database. For example both "Aoi Hana inurl:mangahelpers.com/m" and "Fleurs bleues inurl:mangahelpers.com/m" queries lead to Sweet Blue Flowers.

Perhaps someone may have mentioned before, however it is just a personal observation when using the site.

It seems like the manga/anime titles are not so much in the alphabetical or alphanumerical order in the discussion sections. It will be much easier to search for the titles in that manner. The order bases on genre type is good and the search engine is alright except that it may not read tags very well (in some instances only). Thus sometimes it may have shown that a particular title isn't there which is not true. Therefore an improvement on the search function will be useful.

There are also too many announcements, sticky threads and the like, which make up into a "wall-of-text" that occupies almost half the page of the screen. I understand that ads are an exception as they help to bring revenue to sustain the site. However the others can be quite "overwhelming". It isn't exactly a huge problem. Perhaps a change of wordings like using simple headlines instead of long sentences which in return may be more attractive.

Most of the sections are pretty well made and the choice of differentiating the various sections and threads are very systematic and in order. Users are also an awesome bunch and have many creative ideas and thoughts which makes the forum a great place to hang out. I do enjoy myself here.

Contrary to what an exceptionally uninformed former staff member might think, shounen subforums are not organized by popularity. Organization is relatively arbitrary. There are not many subforums, it's not hard to just read. Individual threads in the main board are organized by most recent post. Some manga forums (Batoto, for example) create separate sub-forums for every manga series. Members have to post a request if there is not a sub-forum for a series. At MH most series have discussion threads, instead of subforums. Members are welcome to start a new thread for any series, as long as one does not already exist. Subforums are only created if a series seems to have more discussion than one thread can sustain. This allows members more freedom to create threads, if necessary, but prevents any type of organization. Subforums can be arranged however the admin see fit. Threads can be sorted by prefix, but can not be placed in alphabetical order, chronological order, or any other organized pattern.

I can talk to the staff about better organizing stickies. Organization of stickies is generally left up to the local staff.
