Puu from Yu Yu Hakusho. Spirit "monster" hatched from the egg given to Yusuke (protagonist) in the ordeal of being revived after dead. Said to be mirror image of Yusukes soul.

The hit toy in my chlidhood, Furby, is totally a rip-off of Puu

Hiruma's dog, Cerberus, from Eyeshield 21 is somewhat of a mascot, though the team literally has a mascot in the Deimon Devil Bat.

Oh! My favorite is Kon from Bleach, hehe~ He isn't really helpful during Ichigo's battles but I'm too used to his own Shinigami Illustration Book segments at the end of each episode, lol.

P-chan from Ranma 1/2.

He is Akane’s pet and he really enjoys being her pet since when he is in that form he has some pretty good benefits (like getting kissed by her or getting to sleep on her bed).

Veronica from Brave 10. She is Jinpachi’s companion and pet.

Sasuke’s owls. They are loyal and extremely useful when delivering information between missions.

Relo/Lero(D.Gray-man): He's a nice umbrella. You can fly with him, take out a sword or summon a few demons. Who wouldn't like to have him?

For D.Gray Man, what about Timcanpy, the little floating golem?
I'll be honest and say I haven't read very far with it yet, but so far his mischeif has been cute.

When I think of Dragon Ball I tend to think of Shenron, the wish granting dragon.
His picture always tends to be attached to the logo and the opening of the anime, which I guess is the job of a mascot.
Plus the many other animals used: Roshi's Turtle, Oolong etc...

And although not mascots as such, I love the animals in Naruto.
I always think of the 3 animals associated with the legendary Sanin, and Kiba's character needs Akamaru.

Number 2. He is the official mascot of the Seirin team in Kuroko no Basket. This furry character is one of the cutest dogs I have seen in manga/anime. He is so adorable~ His eyes and his similarity with Kuroko (one of the protagonist of the story) are the reasons behind his name.

Nagoya from Tonari no Kaibutsu.

He is Haru's pet. Nagoya is a rooster that Haru adopted as his pet. It lives in a chicken coop in the school where Haru goes to and he is the best rooster ever!

Somehow I knew you'd be posting about Nagoya when I saw you made a post on this thread.

But really, Nagoya is an awesome chicken. Even though it's only a few episodes into Tonari, Nagoya feels like Chocobo for Final Fantasy series for me. It colors the series up in its own way, and there is even an episode dedicated for Nagoya. It's usually boring when the plot doesn't really concentrate on the characters, but the episode for Nagoya is just as cool as other episodes. I'm looking forward for more of Nagoya's appearance to help with Shizu and Haru too! XDD

And of course, Nagoya has this awesome theme song for himself. So cool!

My vote goes to Sir Noi Crezant from Hoshi no Samidare. He's hilarious, and his banter with the main character provide huge entertainment in every chapter of Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer. The drama moments at the end of the manga is very well depicted too, I guess he's my all time favorite for mascot characters.

I like Kon as well, he's so damn funny and his narcissistic attitude always makes me laugh

Well, Nagoya is not just any ordinary pet, he is character as well! He also helps to indirectly convey some of Haru’s feelings sometimes.

Gomen, gomen, I forgot about it. Thank you for reminded me of that awesome song, phio_chan! For a moment there, I really thought there was a song, like Nagoya actually singing, as part of the OST. I would love to listen to a longer version of the chicken song.

Evangelion new movie made me remember about the existence of a mascot character named Pen Pen. He provides an ice breaker even though very small in EVA, so I guess that he's one of my favorite mascot characters too.

Every demon who ends up going to the human world in Yondemasuyo Azazel-san. One of the things that make the manga and anime hilarious is that their real appearance is actually quite scary looking and yet they get constantly abused by Akutabe.

There's a whole bunch of demon characters, and my two favourites are Lucifer and Beelzebub.

I love the way Nyanko-sensei (Natsumeyuujinchou) walks with his short legs supporting his fat robust body.

He's a mascot character in this form, and it's a huge contrast to his original impressive body.
