How relevant match ups are in TOG?

It all began with one of the battles in S2, JH vs kallavan, kallavan being a bad match up for JH. Arie family also seems bad matchup for Ha family. Tho, I believe it was first highlighted in Rak vs Inieta battle. Then Recently, Mirchea vs UM, where Mirchea is bad match up for UM but the power difference makes it negligible. Still he was able to annoy UM. People who use spells seems to be a bad match up for Cha, Robadon. Ten GFLs also seems to be a bad match up for Mirchea. UM notes Mirchea runs away from ten GFLs as possibly SBHS possibly counters spells. Lastly, Rei's Rupture vs Blossom purple flames.

We see even a small spark of blossom being a big threat to traum even though both blossom and trum are FHs. So its big component of combat.
