It was something that was discussed in previous games in interest of good sportsmanship. So, not necessarily a rule, and thus not something I'd enforce.

There was a revolt a few games back, I think initiated by either Panda or Vandred, which everyone agreed to. Main reason was everyone hating to see all the „I‘m just forced to wear this!“ whine everywhere, especially back during the time someone gave an „I hate FT“-esque set to people who frequent the FT forums, back during the time the manga was still running.

So it‘s unofficially a rule now.
