Yep. Unfortunately i don't know Holo :/
I know Mirajane though and imo she'd make a perfect Waifu. In oder to be fair with Holo, i took what people said for granted and i considered Holo as a great Waifu as well. So all that remained was the physical appearance... And as i said, Holo seems like a child to me, compared to Mirajane.
I'll be honest though: i actually know Mirajane since i follow Fairy Tail, so i know for a fact that she's a very mature, adult girl despite being only 19 i think. Holo might surprise me and make me eat my words if i read the manga. But as of now, only looking at pictures of her when she looks like a child and has childish (albeit cute) behaviours, makes me think of her as underage compared to Mirajane who's fine.

I'll take the example of Rem. Look at a picture of her, and tell me she doesn't look underage. She has bigger boobs than Holo though.
It's not all about boobs size. By looking at pictures, Holo genuinely looks younger and more childish than Mirajane. That might be only me, and keep in mind i always stated that it was my personal feeling about it. You're free to think Mirajane and Holo look the same age. To me, Holo looks more childish and younger, her look overall give me the vibe of an underage female contrary to Mirajane.

Well my question was about "how", but if it's just a "feel" you are getting, I guess my question was kind of pointless. I will accept this as an answer.

The pictures posted in the thread played a role for sure. For instance that cute pic of her swinging her tail when she is happy, got me the vibe of a young fox. I don't know, it's not much about the boobs size, i'll take Levy (from Fairy Taoil) as an example, she's known in FT for her lack of boobs compared to other female characters, but i dont have that feeling of childness from her. I got that with Holo, to me she just looks like a child.

I probably take the word Waifu too literally yeah xD
Well i judge the waifu thing based on lot of things, personality, looks, would she be a good wife, i mean there's a lot, but in the end if i have to decide who to vote for, i'll answer the following question: "who would i prefer being a couple with". I don't want to be a couple with someone who looks like a child, because that would be disturbing to me. This is very personal.

I have nothing against it, but when facing a difficult choice between two equally good Waifus, i'll prefer the one who doesn't look like a child, someone closer to my own age. That's the way i see it, and i never intended to try to convince anyone. This is my reason for voting Mirajane, the fairest i can give considering i don't know Holo and tried to still give her the benefit of the doubt.

I guess i'll reply to that, since i talked about the age thing earlier in the thread.
I don't care about her age at all, i don't know how mature she is or whatever. That's not what i was talking about, and i definitely didn't talk about her tits size.
She still looks like a 15 years old girl. Regardless of what she is in the inside, i wouldn't be ready to take as a Waifu someone who look massively under age. That's disturbing.
Putting it another way, she's over 100 years old? What if instead of looking like that, she looked like a 100+ year old lady? With loose hanging skin and stuff like that? I'm not putting everything on the looks, but that would be disturbing for me. Same here, in that appearance she looks too young for me.
This is only my opinion, i don't have anything against Holo, as in fact i don't know anything about her.

EDIT:
With that being said, i'll be fair and admit that a good amount of female manga characters and nominees here, are actually looking pretty young just like Holo. So it shouldn't be an argument to discredit someone.
However, as i stated, my vote will naturally go to Mirajane because of this.

To me she's always looked fairly mature, though i guess that could be cause she's always getting drunk in taverns.

But even before that, to me she didnt look any younger than the majority of mainstream anime heroines. In fact i'd say she looks a fair bit older than Lucy.
But i suppose some people see things differently.

@Seven777 That's fair. I'll agree that Lucy looks fairly young on some pictures, especially those from the beginning of the story when she lacked confidence, or when she acts childish.
Looking at diferent pictures of Holo she doesn't look that childish anymore, that's true. I guess context matters a lot. Also, the fact as i said, that i know Mirajane and have of her an impression of maturity, regardless of the look. Whereas i cant say the same with Holo.
Again, this is all very personal and subjective. And that will be my last post on the matter; i didn't even want to start an argument about that anyway.

I have a lot of trouble grasping what you mean. What does "jerk off material" have to do with underage when these are fictional, animated characters, to begin with. So, people have moral trouble jerking off to 17 year old anime girls, but it's perfectly fine once they turn 18? Well, people are entitled to their own views, so I won't say it's entirely unimaginable, but it's way off from the way I see waifu even.

I understand what you mean xD i don't think i have a problem with cheerful girls, i actually prefer it like that. Mirajane is pretty cheerful i'd say. But this attitude combined with art style, sometimes makes the girl look fairly young, and at times even childish.
I'll admit this is related to the art style, and as i don't know Holo or read the manga, it might be weird that i judge based on few pictures. Unfortunately, that's all i can base my opinion on.
