gezzzz.... in coloring practise you should start with how to compress you images without lossing quality....
the same pics but it's got only 0.5 mb or less i think:

yes its true but on picture with colors it's very hard to notice (if the jpg compression it's not too high), usully png format is using with lineart's (better quality without artifacts)
you can also (i think it would be much better for everyone) post your pics in png format as a direct download, but to view your work use jpg compression

Indeed, jpeg compression is VERY acceptable for color images. Almost no visible loss of detail and ALOT smaller file size. Obviously you always have to keep the original copy as a PNG or PSD file without compression, because JPEG can get very ugly if you open it, save it, open it, save it, open it, save it, etc.
