Or just use a pencil instead of a brush to redraw.
While this does rate a very solid MQ, could you give us an idea of the process you used? We can help you work on it and find a way to tweak the performance higher and then to HQ most likely.
Actually I did spend quite a lot of time on this (about 3 days) but I guess the quality is just not up to the standard.
- Just leveled the page, then redid the borders. After that, made groups for all the panels and worked my way on blacks/whites/grays.
- The naruto logo on the top was deliberately not burnt black completely. It was 'brushed' black entirely, but I lowered the opacity, since I thought it looked better that way.
- The little dust was my mistake. I totally forgot about it.
- Borders... I guess they look bad because of the extra whites around the corners making them a bit 'LQ'.. will fix it today.
- The borders were drawn using the Line Tool (not the pencil nor the brush) with an 8px width.
- About redrawing pain's head.. do you mean the one in Panel 2?
- Speed motion lines in Panel 3 were basically a complete black with low opacity. Again, left it a bit dark because it looked kinda cool.. but I guess 'realistic' plays a more important role here
- Gray's in the first panel (Frog bodies, faces, legs) were a tad bit difficult.. especially the first frog starting left (with a fork-type thing in his hand) because the resolution was not too detailed there.
- The other grays were essentially colored gray, redrawn lineart and then film grain filter applied to it.
- Panel 4 pain bodies were filled black. Then re-did lineart (lowered opacity) and worked on a 'White' layer.
*Phew*
So.. now..
- I have to redo borders
- Redraw Pain's head in Panel 2 (right?)
- Fix lineart on grays in Panel 1
- Reduce Speed Motion opacity a tad bit more in Panel 3
- Fix the Naruto Logo (Opacity = 100 = Completely Black)
Anything else?
