This is the latest new series, Muddy that appear in the Weekly Shonen Jump!

~pic credit to koenosaki~

For those who have forgotten, Muddy first appeared as a one-shot under the WSJ Golden Cup run. We are fortunate that out of the many one--shots that appear, this is one of the few ones that were actually scanlated. You can read up the one-shot here.

Now, you can also check out the 1st chapter of this series at the Latest RTS. And of course, a little summary about what this series is about will be good too, if any of you have read it. :amuse

Re: Muddy by Sho Aimoto - Discussion Thread

As info: the mangaka has been an assistant of akira amano (mangaka of katekyo hitman reborn!)

Well I liked the one shot and this opening chapter and I am wondering where this will go to. But my guess: lots of people will want to lay their hands on muddy

Re: Muddy by Sho Aimoto - Discussion Thread

I feel we sort of took a step back in the wackiness from the OneShot with the first chapter though. A mangaka must pace himself I suppose. Not sure what else can be done with this though, is it going to just be different people coming after Muddy each arc?

Re: Muddy by Sho Aimoto - Discussion Thread

my only dissapointment is in the final events of the chapter. It's still fun, and essentially the best way to handle it, but i loved grown up muddy from the one shot, and want him soon as.

Grown Up Muddy? Huh? You mean the female Bombshell Muddy? I think that was obviously a joke.

AH, I remember now.

I do think that we'll see many different looks for Muddy.

I didn't find it dissapointing at all. Muddy is flexible: (s?)he'll prolly do awesome stuff later on. I just hope some things:
1. that it's just not about people hunting down muddy and failing in it
2. I wonder if there will be other human chimereas like muddy

ah a question: was muddy discovered by the guy or created by him? If discovered, I wonder who the true creator is behind muddy. If the guy created him yeah than there's no discussion about that

Re: Muddy by Sho Aimoto - Discussion Thread

I think it was pretty obvious that Muddy was created by Clay somehow. The problem is that Clay doesn't seem to know how he did it.

Re: Muddy by Sho Aimoto - Discussion Thread

I think that if the one shot was anything to go by, we should see other sorts of chimaira for muddy to fight, but whether its from people using freakish ones to obtain muddy, or renegade ones for some reason is something that the series will hopefully tell.

LOL...

I think this chapter was much better than the first. It looks like Suzu will be more involved as the story goes on.

Well we'll see where this is going to but for me (poseidon aside), this one is the least out of the three

Re: Muddy by Sho Aimoto - Discussion Thread

Like I mentioned in the RTS for chapter 12, it seems like many series are better served to stay Oneshots. :s

Re: Muddy by Sho Aimoto - Discussion Thread

I loved this series and am very sad to see it go. It was my favorite of this most recent wave of new Jump series, by far - it had a totally unique feel and pace; one that got to me straight off. Aimoto kept up the charm throughout... it's just a shame that the series ended so soon. I hope the mangaka's next attempt fares better.

Re: Muddy by Sho Aimoto - Discussion Thread

Like I said in the RTS thread for chapter 12, it's a shame its over. It was a cool series, though the story and pacing could've been a little better. I really hope to see the author working on other projects since I really like the art style (the author coloured images digitally right?).

It appears that the color pages were digitally colored, but who even knows if Sho Aimoto colored them himself? :s
