I guess kuzumi will have more problems with mizuki then with the principal's 'little display' XD

I really think previous principal will be suprised on how far kuzumi is willing to go. Kuzumi can be at 1/5 magic of the 1st year's strudents but they would have tried climbing it up by using magic. Risky: because your body reflects the amount of magic - less magic, smaller body. I really believe Kuzumi will succeed and he'll be as big as he started. He won't use the M0 plate for that reason the previous principal will understand the motives of the current principal/daugther

True. I have to admit that I am amazed at the intricacy of such a language.

Grandpa will have to do something. Kuzumi as well as the former principle are in danger if things continue in on their present course.

Hey,

By buying the third french volume I came out to something interesting. You know that the principals grandfather was a priest in temple that was laid on mount seinagi and it was the father/first principal who prolly knew more about magic surrounding that area thus being the foundator of the magic high school

At this point I don't think Kuzumi could make people believe he didn't have magic, even if he told them the truth. How many times has he "proven" he could use Gold Plate level magic now?

So true,LOL. The only way he could make them believe that is if the flying spaghetti monster himself told them.

By the way,wouldn't it be cool if he could lend his body to that spirit again sometimes so that the spirit could "fight" for him?

2. Its so way much cooler when Kuzumi fights on his own accords, and actually make them think he is a all mighty Gold card user.

I agree on the second part. I really hope kuzumi fights them with his own accords but kuzumi will have to progress too on his own accords when he's co-students progress. I really think it would be very difficult for kuzumi to survive without magic when he encounters stronger opponents - prolly the 3rd years later on. So black M0 plate is really welcome and kuzumi using magic too.

Just your opinions:
Ever thought about successing this trial is like a two flipped coin. When a person uses magic in this trial then his body becomes smaller and he loses magic points on his plate. But why wouldn't succeeding this trial without using M0 become advantegous for kuzumi? I think it's like a coin: each disadvantage has its advantage and I wonder if that'll be only black M0?

i agree with this too. i love the way kuzumi gets out of each situation using his own merits and a lot of creativity (with a dash of luck ), but as time goes on his classmates will become stronger and stronger. even though he will be able to use some magic, the way kuzumi gets out of situations will really not change that much with black M0. he will still have to be creative enough to use the limited amount of magic he has in a way that will still fool everyone into thinking he is the monster gold card user. plus, chances are that he will be using magic that he has no experience with and will just have to adapt to the situation. the black M0 will open up a lot of possibilities, so i really hope he gets it

Black M0 is really the best solution for Kuzumi. As cool as it would be to see him finally get to have a real Plate, giving him one would essentially be character murder. Kuzumi as a character works because he can't use magic, but is believed to be the best at it. Give him magic and he just becomes the same as everyone else.

M0 worked as his power because it could only be used sparingly, and wasn't a solution to every situation. The upgrade made it a little easier to use, but still not something that would always work or help, and it still always came at a cost. The Black Plate works for basically the same reason - it gives him some more flexibility, but in the end still needs him to use M0, meaning that he's still going to need to expend points to use it, so he still can't spam it the way the other kids can use magic over and over again.

So this is a way for Kuzumi to use magic without killing what makes his character work. He's still going to be scared and desperate and have to struggle to deal with magic, but he'll be able to fight back a little bit more. He's still going to have to think his way around problems, he'll just have a new trick up his sleeve.

Give Kuzumi a real Plate, though, and as the principal says he'll be able to learn more advanced magic than the other kids, and we know he'd be able to apply it better. And then his illusion just becomes reality, and where's the fun in that?

This chapter was really good, so glad i started reading this manga (credit to koenosaki as followed his banner) in next chapter i think previous principle will realise what it is the current principle sees in kuzumi.
Can't wait to see kuzumi use magic i've wanting to be able to use it for a little while now also i'm glad its not like everyone elses as i really enjoy watching kuzumi beat ridiculous odds with just his physical strength and words.

I completely agree on all these points. This manga works because of the fact that Kuzumi uses tools and resources instead of straight magic. The black M0 would function as a one shot spell. Not only that, but he can't really pick and choose which spell he stores without using M0 a lot.

From what I understood, there are ten levels of Black plate. Completing 1 level would give him 1 layer of black 'gilding'.

So completing the ten levels should be a gradual thing.

@keshire: it's stated there are ten levels of black plate but is it also stated what kuzumi wants and expect? Okay he's very interested in the black M0 plate but will he stop with level 1? We don't know yet but level 1 trial is already difficult - I wonder what others would be like

Of course he won't stop at level 1.
But I doubt he'll do them all at once. Maybe 1 or 2 for this arc.
