Well, Can't say I didn't told you so, right guys? I specifically said back in M97 discussion that there's no way Kano could create an acceptable ending for this series with just 2 more chapters, and this is exactly what I was talking about. Even the best compromise for an ending isn't very good in my point of view. There was no definitive closure here, and the only excuse concocted for ending the series was because Kuzumi no longer holds a M0 plate... How absolutely lame. >.>

I really think we should wait for at least a trans/scan come out. Dialogues can do a lot of things. We knew mx0 was going to end and we knew mx0 wouldn't get a decent end. But give me an open ending with some farewell to his friends then a rushed ending were everything jumps from one thing to another thing.

Don't misunderstand me, I don't say this ending is great and amazing, but it isn't as worse as I feared and for that I am glad. Btw mentioned: he is talking about seeing his fans back with a next/new project

I agree that the ending was not that well planned, but sequel can be easily made from this kind of ending.
I'm kinda diasppointed with the last few pages, just because he should've ended just before kuzumi leaves;

Yep, I will miss Mx0 a lot. It was by far in the lead of series that I look forward to reading every week. I only hope Kano's next series is not in Weekly Jump, or Shueisha for that matter.

That makes me think, if Kano couldn't take the Mx0 trademark away from Shueisha, could he now do a sequel series elsewhere, under a different name?

I'd be pissed enough to do that if they cancelled my soon-to-skyrocket series. So much potential!

oops didnt realise there is another discussion thread... i just post again my view which i posted in the mx0 99 raw thread:

i think the story may continue under a new title..
cause the chinese name for the manga is 魔法零蛋 which means 'magic zero'
since Kuzumi now started learning magic, the title become irrelevant to the ongoing story... so my guess is maybe the author wanna change the name at this point of time when Kuzumi started learning magic...

I would love it beyond words if it continued under a different name, but it's just not going to happen. Either it would have a completely different cast or it would be with a super powerful Kuzumi, and neither of those things would really be very good.

indeed, I don't see much excitement if kuzumi came back with a real GP, since the whole point of this series is that kuzumi is unable to use magic. It hardly matters what the tiltle would be, now the content is completely different.
However, it would be kinda fun if Kano released about 10 to 20 chapters of epilogue, or we can do some unofficial releases (possible, right?

I must say i was really really shocked when i read the "the end" tag at the last page of chapter 99.... I would've thought that the 2 months thing will be an introduction to a new arc... after all there seems to be a lot of uncompleted story

1) the vice principle that seems to be targeting koizumi
2) the 3rd year magic comittee leader (apperared in chapter 70) that always appeared in silhouette... wouldve been a potential enemy/rival for koizumi
3) koizumi's goal in resurrecting higari's mum (that was his goal to begin with to get the gold plate)
4) maybe backstory of the x-principle.. why he turned himself to ghost, etc

soo... yeah.... i didnt really understand why he had to end it at chapter 99... can somone explain...?

other than that... im keeping my fingers crossed for the 2nd season/series

It's kinda sad that it ended.
With the way it ended, there can be room for a sequel.

Like maybe like Mx0 "the road to Gold Plate" or something like it. I wont mind seeing Kuzumi trying to get a gold plate... maybe he'll encounter some things while he is studying abroad, and may have to go back to Seinagi High early.

I really hope this is not the end...cause I really like the story.

It's my first time browsing through the Mx0 forum here, so can I ask why Kano is forced to rush the ending of the series in 2 chapters? (someone mentioned this). Damn, I felt everything was so rush. There was no love confession from Kuzumi to Hiiragi. And for the black plate test he only passed 1 level out of 10. He can't even use magic properly yet at the end of the series let alone becoming a gold plate holder. We never get to see him fulfill Aika's wish and see her mother either. All these (and I bet there's many more but I can't recall it right now) unfinished story make it looks completely like way too soon to end it just like that. His previous work Pretty Face too ended the same way.. It's such a waste because both of his stories have so much potential and can be much longer..

The series got cancelled, and one of the greatest mangas I've ever had the good fortune to stumble upon was shot down before it's prime.

So much left untold. A sequel would be incredibly clunky compared to how the predecessor flowed, and so I don't foresee one happening.

This is truly a shame.

I am both sad and content with this chapter. Kuzumi remained himself all the way through. This story was never about Kuzumi being a gold plate, but how he could touch people while he tried to achieve it. With this 2 month epilogue we were able to see that Kuzumi was prospering and on his way to keeping his promise to Aika.

I also loved the last magic he did at that school was some of Aika's. Such a cute thing.

As far as the Vice Principle story, I don't see him much of an issue, since both principals and the representative to the world magic group approve of Kuzumi. All he'd be is a dissenting opinion on a decided case.

Yeah. Thats pretty much the reason. Probably because Mx0 suffered from having to little focus. I think it left a too vague impression and changed its theme a lot, but thats just me. Nevertheless a great manga.
Hope Kano can surpass Mx0 with some new manga in the future.

Go to the Seinaigi High School North Area sub-forum and you'll see the discussion about the probable reason(s) behind the cancellation. This is like the 8th time I've seen someone post something like this... I guess, having stickied the Mx0 cancellation discussion thread would've been a good way of avoiding these but I guess it's pretty much too late for that.

I still think that this sort of ending is anti-climactic. Compared to Pretty Face's ending, this series's ending didn't string together too good with the chapters that came before the last chapter... IT'S STILL TOO PREMATURE IMO.

Sure getting rid of M0 plate was a good reason to end the series, but why do that when you've set up an intriguing chapter like M96 where we practically got a taste of what Kuzumi could do with the black plate? It just still doesn't make sense to me.

As all of you do I hope for a sequel, but I don't really think it'll happen.
