Its the same mangaka that did Mx0.

the story its almost the same (reaaly, a big part of it).

Thats the pilot episode for Mx0 which was made before Mx0. Of course, there's only one chapter.

Mx0 ==> Mahou x 0

mahou = magic; x = a common linking word for manga titles; 0 = zero, nothing...

overall, something like "Magic zero" or something like that... he, i`d like to see a sequel for this, but who knows? maybe only Yasuhiro Kano...

I thought the series was still going to continue! Seemed kinda rushed with no real antagonist... I assumed the chick with the rubiks cube was to be an enemy an such...

This is what people get to say when they don't drop by regularly.

Yeah man, it's over. As for sequels, don't get your hopes up. WSJ NEVER makes one of those. Trigun had to jump to a different publishing house just to get one printed. (AND required renaming it from Trigun to Trigun: Maximum, might I add.)

But the chances of Kano (the author of Mx0) moving to a different magazine is slimmer than none at all since he's been working in WSJ for 20 years already.

Indeed and that's why I got the feeling he ended it on his own will. Honestly, would you stay working for a publishin house that ends your manga works abruptely? I don't think so.

About pretty face I can't argue, but mx0 sells weren't bad as its popularity in the ToC. So I think he must have decided it

No. If he did indeed decide to end it himself then that would just be stupid. For himself and for other ( us fans ). And this a japanese man we're talking about. The reason Japan got its economic revolution which shocked the rest of the world back in the 60-70 is because they had men who didn't quit their company, even if they were on the verge of bankruptcy.

Although I'm getting a little of topic here now, my point is that Kano won't quit publish for WSJ no matter how many times his mangas get cancelled. Its just that way.

As I said, it's only a feeling I got and only one of the many reasons I heard (as I heard yours among them too).

It could be cultural as you said, it could also got to do with contracts, money etc... Eventually I hope he'll clear it out in his last volume why?

It was probably to make space. WSJ has a history of cancelling series abruptly, Saint Seiya for example. Also, Captain Tsubasa left WSJ in order to have more freedom after what happenned near the end of World Youth. It shouldn't be a surprise that MX0 got cancelled considering its position in popular polls of WSJ. And since the story is not properly wrapped, I think we can confidently say that the cancellation was mainly a decision made by Shueisha.

LOL~! What the blazing hell are you talking about?!? HAHAHA!

I said that if Mx0 would go to another publishing house, they'd have to rename it as well. Just like the mangaka of Trigun did in renaming the manga into Trigun: Maximum. But as I said before, the possibility of Kano shipping his manga to another publishing house is as impossible as traveling to the moon by just riding a bike.

Im not quite sure, but didn't they do it with Rosario x Vampire? I heard that they canceled Rosario x Vampire and started a second manga-season when the anime became popular or something like that.

I dont get those japanese people. I would be soooo pissed if someone would always cancel my work just when it gets interesting. Heh. You can't simply go to other companies and get their mangas re-published.

The reason behind it is that even if the mangaka does leave the company, the publishing house will still hold rights over the manga; From Characters, Items, Story, Plot Devices, and licensing & merchandising. Printing a sequel in the same company is impossible (since there were reasons for canceling it), but having it re-published in another company is more possible albeit will be hard fought with numerous challenges.

Publishing Mx0 in another company will take time, money, and most importantly due process; which are things that publication houses aren't willing to just hand anyone to out easily.

I started reading this manga a week ago, and thought it was average,
I became addicted after the inter class battles.
It had to end so soon, and it seemed like a long run manga
Pfff, I thought It was just warming up.

I guess it wasn't popular in Japan. Concerning the content of the manga it was really good and as you said I just read it in a few days as well and got into it. Such a good story and funny as well. Sadly it may be the last of it. I really hope that maybe they will decide to continue it with a sequel series. Considering the name of the series is based on his plate - it would change.

:/ Oh well, hopefully we hear something of it soon.
