The fact that gildarts can injure him physically clearly means Meliodas will annihilate August by his physicals not to mention meliodas is faster than speed of light too and full counter.
The only thing August can do is Are magia which was said to be able to destroy fiore and fiore apparently being larger than Britannia so yeah only ars magia is going to beat meliodas but at these time he's also going to die.

Gildarts parted miles of cloud and sent a dude flying dozens of miles in the time span for Rustyrose a few feet.

Meliodas at 32500 just awakening destroyed an entire city and left a 8KM hole which is a very weak form of meliodas is mountain level and the current meliodas is far beyond that meliodas it's pretty clear that his strength surpasses that of gildarts and the current meliodas presence alone is causing natural disasters all over Britannia which is clear that he is definitely at the same level of etherion ( country level)

Not only that but originally the manga said it was impossible for the ruler to be beaten by magic until a stronger magic attack appeared like Mel’s darkness and Mael’s sun punch or whatever it’s called. Same thing should apply to inversion.

Ok Etherion is a country buster and Meliodas with his inner DK form along with his destroyer magic puts meliodas at large country level which also puts him vastly above country level I. E large country level and his full counter and revenge counter, he easily stomps August and Gildarts
