YO...I'm back...
Merry Christmas to everyone, I wish U lots of presents. We thank Mangastream for the presents they made, they are sure working hard, so thanx a lot.
One can say this chapter is in the spirit of Christmas. Danzou is a pleasant surprise, Sasuke has some new jutsu to show off. Danzou, Karin are very surprised so it's a pleasant mood for everyone. Even the fans are surprised, Kishimoto-sensei knows what the fans want. Poor Naruto is the only one who is sleeping, probably still waiting for Santa to arrive. Kishi told us Naruto will train, so probably the Easter Bunny will do something...but that's a long time so...
Let's start this.
Naruto chapter 477: Don't speak of Itachi
The protagonists are the same as last week. Their fight sure is an interesting one, since the old fox is showing off his jutsu and teaches, the young one doesn't listen and hates the teacher, and shows some new stuff as well.
Sharingan here, and there...it's Christmas and it's snowing good thing not with Sharingans. I'm starting to be grateful to Itachi, for killing of the entire clan. But this man sure is a surprise, and I dare to say that everyone seems so pale when compared to him.
Kishimoto used some heavy words in describing him:
"A greedy dictator? Or perhaps a noble personification of a shinobi? The 'Roots' run deep."
That was fabulous. Sorry for my naive fanboyism, but it's long time since I've seen somebody with such a strong presence in the manga. Madara and Pein were similar, but Pein is dead, and Madara is just playing around, fact which somehow is not so threatening.
Besides the fabulous words that describe, Danzou doesn't seem to disappoint those words.
Last week he got crushed by Susano'o and Sasuke thought he got rid of his enemy in blazing glory...well Danzou is back and test the before unseen Susano'o. Surprisingly this beast is fast. I mean Danzou even if he somehow manages to revive himself, at least he should be able to escape if Susano'o were slow...but that's wrong.
Not only speed, but power is there also and as he destroys the ground in front of him we see, Danzou's foot in the ruins. But he is alive and kicking(literally). One could think...wow, danzou is cool, but sasuke? C'mon just spamming an incomplete Suasno'o?
Heh..right back at U...so Sasuke uses Amaterasu the unavoidable flame. And yeah Amaterasu lives up to its reputation.
Very nice panel I always like these scenes where somebody supposedly dies from Amaterasu. Yep...I said "supposedly", cuz of course Danzou is alive, and honestly...do U remembere the last time somebody died from Amaterasu...I remember...the little snake from Oro's jutsu and...(still thinking)....
But let's get back to present times, where Danzou superbly attacks with a Fuuton, but...
There U go...many say it's a convenient Christmas gift for Sasuke. It's a surprise anyway, even the mighty Madara is surprised. Karin is just relieved that her precious is alive, so I guess the bird summon is not new, also Juugo is good friend with animals, so...it doens't really matter.
What matters is that Danzou died three times and he's more energic than ever. One could say it's genjutsu. But Madara, Sasuke and even Karin are witnessing the entire chain of events, so it should be an elaborate genjutsu...no wonder with so many eyes, but it's not genjutsu. Karin is a talented sensor-type so I think we can believe her, when she says that it's not genjutsu becuz there were no disturbances nor in hers or Sasuke's chakra. But she quickly reveals that there were no Shadow Close either, so the reader is puzzled before taking his train of thoughts to the level of Kage Bunshin, which is logical.
Okay...Karin notices something that we could just assume. The jutsu is related to the sharingarm. So whenever he is killed an eye closes and the jutsu ends and he pops up elsewhere.
There's an idea around which is interesting, that when an eye closes the jutsu could start. The theory is not mine, but it's a good one and probably true in some manner. Since sharingan is so related to space-time ninjutsu, it could be that Danzou is using the time part of it. So whenever Danzou is struck he sends himself back in time. Not by much, cuz there needs to be some limitations to the jutsu. So 5 seconds back in time is just enough to counterattack. It's a very good theory let's hope it's true, Cuz it would be something very new and pleasant.
But something is odd...
The parts that are struck or cut down like in the panels presented before, they disappear slowly which means, that the body part that is damaged is not real, so the time-travel jutsu might lose some ground here. The only thing is certain, and that is the fact that the without the sharingarm this jutsu wouldn't exist. There are many eyes on that arm, so this last strike with the sword shouldn't count so much...
Yeah...whatever U say ol' man......but I think if his struck down enough times, he can be killed. So it's a matter of time and stamina, so Sasuke should manage his resources better, cuz beginning the fight with Susano'o is one thing, but when U see it's not working U shouldn't pop Amaterasu right after that.
But this is Sasuke we're talking about. Against Raikage it was just a matter of balls(filled with chakra). So who got bigger balls would win. But this time danzou is playing with Sasuke and he needs to find out his secret. So we might get a glimpse of why is Sasuke regarded as genius in the following chapters. But Kishi said enough with the bad people, let's bring out the good ones. And there U go...
The crows are there, the Mangekyou is there...so before we get to the point of ecstasy as U can notice the text on Danzou's head...the crows came from Sasuke, so even if this could be something Itachi left behind, Sasuke doesn't seem to be surprised. Anyway it's along these lines...genjutsu or Itachi's second gift to Sasuke. But we'll see next chapter, which will come out quite a while from now...so let's just enjoy this good fight and the familiar and respected face of the "True Shinobi": Itachi Uchiha.
Quick summary/Opinions:
Great chapter, many new things revealed. Danzou rocks, Sasuke is trying to impress as well, both of them put their lives on the line which is good. I'm fed up with the past fight in which there was no killing intent.
Two major things happened here: Danzou's jutsu and Itachi's image. Danzou's jutsu IMO is somekind of projection jutsu. I don't know if the term was used before, but I think it's somewhere among those lines. So imagine those eyes, being some projectors, though I'm still thinking on the materialization part, but I guess I just never had Sharingan projectors, so I can't know. He sure has many lives...he can also probably reopen those eyes. There is a limit to his jutsu, and probably sasuke will somehow try to force it out, instead of killing him slowly, one by one.
Itachi should be a genjutsu or the manifestation of Itachi's remaining power in this world. I don't even know what I would want it to be. It's a good cliffhanger and my predictions follow the two possibilities presented. Anyway a solid 8 for this chapter. The fight was great so far, and I dare say the most part of the mark is on Danzou's shoulder. The chapter lacks new conversations, Danzou just repeated the same thing as last time. Sasuke is powerful as Itachi, but he lacks his understanding.
Predictions/Want to happen
Well we will begin from Itachi in the next chapter. Genjutsu or temporary resurrection, some stuff will be revealed about the massacre. Probably Danzou's role in it, maybe his connection with Madara. Anyway past recollection will exist. Now if it is a genjutsu, then it serves the purpose of openening the mind of Danzou, to reveal stuff maybe the secret behind his jutsu, and in the meanwhile to make him drop his guard. If it is really Itachi, then past memories and some advice for Sasuke is to be expected.
I wouldn't mind though if Naruto would appear in the next chapter, or maybe Sakura who stumbles on the battle scene. That would mean that Kakashi is in the vicinity, cuz he needs to stop sakura, which means some Great Sharingan Clash: Kakashi vs. Danzou vs. Madara and Sasuke(vs. probably Itachi). That would be hilarious.
