Hey there people, I think this is the first time I'm actually doing a theory thread on the Naruto section, but like they say, there's a first time for anything, or almost anything. Oh well let's get started.
This theory isn't centered around Naruto being Tsunade's grandson and a direct descendant of Hashirama, but rather something else.
His last name, Uzumaki.
We know that his mother, Uzumaki Kushina, was born on the former Whirlpool Country: Uzu no Kuni.
Well, like in our own history, on the Narutoverse history, country's could have names given to them due to their environment, characteristics, etc. Or simply because the ones that established the country gave them their own name. We've seen examples of this on our ancient times of Greece, Rome and etc.
Now, the Uzumaki mark, the one that Naruto used, or rather, is going to use in order to give his autograph:
His own name, Uzumaki. He has the name of the country.
It means one of 2 things:
His mother's ancestors, therefore his ancestors, gave the name of the country to themselves, and were established as leaders.
or
His ancestors gave their name to the country itself and became it's leaders.
(note: the original post wasn't meant to be like this, it was a lot better but the stupid computer failed :\)
Anyway, now there's another thing:
Konoha's battle attire.
We've seen that mark somewhere before now haven't we? It's a spiral/whirlpool. Could it have another meaning? Sure it could, and even though Kishi said that it means nothing, I've got a different opinion on this.
We know that Konoha has 2 other marks, their own Konoha mark, and then the Anbu and Will of fire Mark.
The will of fire mark resembles this:
And we've seen it on many other vests and places, like the monument on the graveyard.
And then the Anbu captain's mark:
and normal anbu:
Sure they look a like but their inversed.
Anyway, the whirlpool mark we see on Konoha, @ least I haven't noticed it, can't be seen anywhere else.
Now, looking @ a spiral can sometimes induce illusions, hypnosis, you get my drift.
Now this lady here:
http://naruto.wikia.com/wiki/Tōka_Senju
Is a Senju that specialized in Genjutsu.
Could the mark be somewhat relevant to the further development of the manga? It could, and it couldn't, but it's a nice thought, I think
Now, another interesting thing to think about is:
Could Kushina be a descendant of Toka?
What makes me think this is basically the symbol, nothing else.
Now, if we only could gather info on Kushina, we could discuss more, but since Kishi refuses to tell us more about her, this will probably be discussed after it's cleared if Naruto has even more connections to "royalty" than we thought about.
Well, this might be confusing, but if you have any questions, please ask x)
