^ LOL seriously, he's like oh... i was gonna give him Byakugan but... eh.

It's funny because i think in the first couple of arts he did for bolt's hype he made his eye color pale to make it seem like the kid would have it.

And then the final offical product he was like oops... forgot... lets roll with it.

And Gentlefist is going to be a beast on him. Twin lion heads + a Chidori enhancement? or the rotation style with lightning embedded in it?

He's definitely going to outclass naruto as far as Taijutsu goes.

Has some character designs. The latter part of the video has scenes from Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 with Kaguya, Rikudo Madara/Obito, Naruto/Sasuke etc. looks quite cool

It's probably something that many ninja are capable of learning, at least at a basic level. Without the byakugan, however, they can't see chakra points and close them off. A byakugan user could use it more effectively and probably finish off an enemy with fewer strikes and thus less chakra as opposed to somebody without the byakugan. For Bolt, it's just taijutsu enhancement.
I don't think most are capable of basic level, as if I recall Ten-Ten or Neji said it was difficult to exert chakra out of the body. Could have meant continuously though.

True, but they can deal damage by sending chakra to organs. If Bolt is a genius, then he can make excellent use of Gentle Fist. I know Gentle Fist user with training or knowledge of human body could do immense damage if they know where to strike, like how Haku could precisely strike Zabuza's points on his neck to make it look like he died.

I guess "basic" means something different to everyone. I'd imagine it has a learning curve kind of like medical ninjutsu (just an example). It's not easy, for sure, but not limited to very few people either (at the basic level).

I agree about its various uses. Kabuto looked like he was able to extend chakra out of his body too when he was trying to cut Tsunade and Shizune's muscles. It's a deadly skill, but you can't spam it.

Bolt's already seeming kind of OP in a way that's not really satisfying. It's like DBZ where Gohan surpassed Goku at a really young age, and then Goten proceeded to surpass both of them at an even younger age. The fruit of their labor doesn't feel as appealing when the "labor" part is missing. Just my own opinion though.

Yeah i can get that. Bolt is just limitless right now. Already performing Jutsu that took his dad 17 years and Sage mode to accomplish at the ripe age of like.. 13-15.

That will invite an interesting power scaling later when he gets older. Especially if the Nine-tails tradition holds true and the next Vessel has to be an Uzumaki. Namingly Bolt or his Sister. oddly enough his sister is hardly mentioned anywhere. Looks like she inherited Hinata's Plot relevance.

Given what was said, it seems to be limited to few people, given the precise chakra control required, as well as being able to send out constant streams of chakra without changing the output too much for Gentle Fist. Medical nins don't have to move much, usually, while the Gentle Fist users are fighting.

I agree about its various uses. Kabuto looked like he was able to extend chakra out of his body too when he was trying to cut Tsunade and Shizune's muscles. It's a deadly skill, but you can't spam it.
I think he can extend chakra out of his body, he did that to heal someone... I think Sakura after Naruto went berserk on the bridge?

Gohan did surpass Goku, but he was still nerfed in that he needed to get angry to get stronger than Goku. Otherwise normally Gohan isn't strong enough to be on Goku or Vegeta's level and still has to put in work. I think Goten does as well, but we just don't see it.

Not to veer too far off topic, but Gohan in the cell saga was great because the villain had a cool backstory. And, because Gohan's friends were getting crushed, he had pain to act as a catalyst for awakening his innate powers. It didn't feel contrived because he'd already worked with impressive dedication. Goten and Trunks had become super saiyan as if it was just an extension of walking and talking, which sort of downplayed the how legendary and impressive becoming super saiyan actually was. It wasn't as big an issue in DBZ because, as kids, they weren't central characters and provided more comic relief.

Kishi's Bolt is like a brattier version of Toriyama's Goten. Bolt's imbibing every super skill (big rasengan, gentle fist, etc.) despite that he doesn't even have any pain to act as a catalyst for awakening anything, unless you count that his dad works overtime. It also doesn't look like he's been challenged to train every waking moment as if his life depends on it. He's a kid born in times of peace.

Ugh, I guess I'm venting. I just wished that if Kishi decided to prolong the Naruto series, he would do justice to all the elements of his story that he wrote before.

Not to interrupt the convo above - found the discussion interesting.
Really wished the Gaiden / Brouto chapters lasted a little longer.

I agree. But the difference is that going Super Saiyan required rage or strong emotions, so it would make sense that Super Saiyan level 2 would require just as much rage and emotion. It's interesting how his rage came out when Cell killed Android 16.

He doesn't need pain to be able to use rasengan, Gentle Fist, or most other jutsu, or even Byakugan. I don't think that's an excuse to compare or criticize Bolt on, given the jutsu are about talent and knowledge, not emotion.

Nor are we sure how much he trains. It's not like Naruto trained 24/7 to get the super power ups that he did. Sasuke probably did, though.

Regarding the second point, emotion plays a role in providing a reason to work hard. Talent and knowledge are important, but a lot of the geniuses in Naruto's generation flourished because they were trying to counteract their pain. Naruto worked hard to prove the village wrong when they hated him. Neji worked hard and thoroughly utilized his innate talent to break the Hyuuga clan's notion that he'd always be inferior. Sasuke's search for vengeance drove his desire to become stronger in the early days.

Despair was that extra push these characters used, turning their misfortunes into their strengths. That's what made their accomplishments shine a bit extra. Then, we see an entitled brat with (relatively) little to complain about, utilizing several techniques that the previous generation poured blood, sweat, and tears into mastering. I think there's ample reason to criticize Bolt's characterization.

True, we don't know how much he trains. I would think he trains a lot, but he doesn't have that extra push that drove the others to excellence. Bolt lacks a mature, believable purpose. That's why his accomplishments lack sense.

This should've been the ultimate start & end to Bolt's rebuke.

We simply don't much about the kid. We don't even have much examples of his behaviour that depicts him as a brat.

One thing for sure is certain. The way Bolt turned out so far is a reflection of his parent's parenting skills. Whether that's good, great, excellent or bad, abhorrent & a host of other negative words, remains to be seen.

Totally disagree.

I've based my opinion of all the material we've seen on Bolt - trailers, manga, and gaiden. If the movie depicts him as someone starkly different, my opinion will change. Please read the reasoning before you try to discount it.

I'm merely expressing that plot progression in the Naruto-verse is likely following the same uninspiring trend reminiscent of DBZ. Is that so hard to believe?

The materials you've seen? So conjecture then?

Prematurely depicting the Kid as anything good or bad behaviour wise when all you've literally seen are a few reads, short clips & some manga panels? You don't think that's jumping the gun a little?

What if Naruto ended up being a complete arsehole father & Bolt "acts up" because of this?

What if Bolt is under a lot of pressure to match up to his highly esteemed father & that became driving force?

We simply don't know.

So... why don't you actually read the posts above?

You're jumping to the conclusion that I am labeling Bolt as "good" or "bad." That is not the point. It's about how kids are becoming more OP despite having relatively cushy lives compared to their fathers. That makes the monumental achievements of their fathers, which were born out of adversity, feel far less shiny and impressive.

None of your conjectures about Bolt's life add up to him having a similar level of adversity. Naruto's not the type to treat people badly, but it's believable that he's too busy to be around. Hinata looks like a dedicated mother, but in the trailer, we see Bolt facing off against her, followed by a shot of what looks like a birthday cake falling to the ground. There's nothing in that trailer that makes me feel sorry for Bolt. Rather, I feel sorry for his family.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but trailers are supposed to give people a sense of what a movie will be about. So if the implications of the trailer are off, then you can blame marketing.

A trailers is a means to sell a product to the people. It's common practice to have one in order to get you - a potential audience - hyped about it.

I just read some significant spoilers (movie summary) & it turns out Bolt isn't what people thought. In fact, people now feel sorry for him. Imgaine that.

Yes, except the trailer did the opposite of what you just described (at least for me). Didn't feel hyped so much as bewildered.

I just read the spoilers. Of which people do you speak?

Where can I read the supposed spoilers? Because a while ago, people were claiming that Bolt had the Byakugan due to spoilers. Yet we still haven't seen a single hint of it. I also remember the spoilers from the last that happened to give a long string of BS that wasn't even close to true. Anybody remember the missing ninja Nara that supposedly was responsible for the Uchiha massacre? Or, Karin dying for Sasuke and bequeathing her glasses to Sarada. Or her glasses being given to Sarada in memory of her.

The assumption that Boruto had Byakugan was due to him being able to perform Jyuuken.
