Re: Naruto Hangout Thread v.12 - Part 1

with kyuubi chaakra he is now amongst the strongest ever in this manga
IMO Naruto is the strongest living Shinobi next to Obito. In the history of the manga I'd say only ET Madara and MAYBE Hashirama would be stronger other than Obito right now.

Re: Naruto Hangout Thread v.12 - Part 1

Minato is nowhere near the strongest, nor was he ever the strongest or hte most powerful hokage, from what we've seen. However, he's among the deadliest and represents one aspect of ninja - ability to kill silently and quickly. Fighting Minato alone will result in almost a sure death, and he can likely kill better than Hashirama, Tobirama, and almost anyone else and not leave a trace. Minato doesn't need to be the strongest or most powerful, he's already an efficient killing machine, among one of the best. That's what sets him apart from most others, in my opinion; Minato doesn't need power to be considered one of the best, and he can be weak as hell but still be able to take out tons of enemies. Plus, Minato seems to have an ability to adapt, which is rare. Bee pushed Raikage out of the way, but Minato reacted well and tagged Bee (or he tried to tag Raikage and ended up tagging Bee), which worked to his advantage.

Even if Minato can't do shit to someone like the Raikage or even Tobi, he's still pretty useful. Hell, he's likely to be more useful than most shinobi, with the possible exception of Kakashi and Jiraiya.

Re: Naruto Hangout Thread v.12 - Part 1

i agree with m3j

if it comes down to a dbz type power battle
minato is in trouble

but as far as being a stealthy percise shinobi

hes the best

but with kyuubi chaakrahe can likely swing with the big boys in power

Unfortunately many of the characters in this manga are DBZ like, so Minato is screwed against most of the best of the best.

Re: Naruto Hangout Thread v.12 - Part 1

Against people like Tobi and Raikage, it's pretty hard to tell. Although rasengan and chidori are different, Raikage managed to take in chidori and came out of Mabui's teleportation jutsu relatively unharmed, compared to Tsunade anyway. Even Sasuke's sword didn't seem to do anything. Tobi even took Naruto's Kyuubi Mode rasengan like it was nothing.

Yeah, Kyuubi's chakra pretty much makes Minato's Hiraishin million times faster than it was before. That's an enormous boost. I doubt there exists a shinobi who can beat Hiraishin's Kyuubi-chakra enhanced speed now.

Do what now?

The speed boost from Hiraishin isn't dependent on chakra placed into it. It shouldn't be at least. Shunshin? Sure. But Hiraishin? How the hell do you move faster than instant? Hiraishin 2.0, an enhanced Hiraishin wasn't even faster than regular Hiraishin.

@syx: Sorry. I've long since learned not to give people the benefit of the doubt when it comes to Minato, lmao.

Considering we haven't even seen Rikudou Sennin do anything I'm not sure how you can this. Beside that, RK sealed the more powerful Juubi than we've seen by himself and stored him no problem. I don't see Minato coming anywhere close to that.

Has it altered him any way than how he normally is? He's just faster that's it. Hirashin is the same and he is still lacking in the ninjutsu department.

im beginnig to wonder about the lack of ninjutsu part

just because hiraishin and rasengan are all we have seen doesnt mean thats all he can do

we saw a total of what? two of his fights?
plus some minor skirmishing against fodder in the kakashi gaiden?

so what if he has some other stuff like combo attacks with toads and elemental jutsus that he just chooses not to use because they take more time with hand signs and what not

i will guarantee minato has more in his arsenal than just rasengan and hiraishin

we never saw him fightvto the death or in danger the fight with tobi was cut short

and minato had to use his fastest attacks to counter an unknown form of space/time type jutsu

and he was able to melt tobis arm with a much weaker rasengan than naruto weilded later on

so its my hypothesis that minato knows several.other ninjutsus

yet for the purpose of attacking swiftly to avoid the need of weaving hand signs

rasengan+hiraishin became his bread and butter

Re: Naruto Hangout Thread v.12 - Part 1

While we do think Minato knows more jutsu, we don't know what he knows. It's pretty pointless and stupid to assume what he knows, so we're only restricted to rasengan and Hiraishin.

fair enough

both are so effective it renders using more time consuming jutsus pointless for his style of combat

Re: Naruto Hangout Thread v.12 - Part 1

He said "in many cases".Except Kisame anyone in that little list would be able to destroy a village.
'These are ninja' - that obviously includes kisame.

'In many cases' mean in different ways they can do it.

---------- Post added July 16, 2013 at 12:00 AM ---------- Previous post was July 15, 2013 at 11:58 PM ----------

If Kisame created his water dome he could simply roll through a village and there are very few shinobi who would be able to stop him. That technique is horrifying powerful, and he is essentially impossible to kill while inside and transformed.
Yes but it would take him day or days to do it not just in a short time.

Umm, no it would take him a few minutes. That water dome is massive, like he size of a football stadium. It moves as fast and where ever Kisame moves, meaning he could travel through a village and decimate it with just the water, picking up people and drowning them.

That's the problem though, his style of combat. In the infant stages of this manga he would have been unstoppable, but now that ninja's are like DBZ characters and his style is obsolete.

For the longest time it was "if you are faster than the other ninja, you'll win".

Now it's "if you have most earth shattering power, or some higher level of insane and God like power, you''ll win".

Re: Naruto Hangout Thread v.12 - Part 1

well the biggest difference is that the characters in this manga arent to riduculous enough levels that their skin cannot be penetrated by steal

a kunai to the throat would still be enough to kill most

(save for ones like hidan and kakazu who are either immortal.or store their heart elsewhere)

so if a knife can still kill you, minato has a chance

i disagree

kisame in that shark form with his water dome could take out a village in a few hours

And since when have we seen a non fodder ninja get hit in the throat with an attack like that?

Naruto, Hashirama, The Raikage, Orochimaru, Kabuto and Kisame all have the durability/healing abilities to ability to take a slash to throat and live. Bee might be able to as well if he's in his Version 2.0 form. Obito can let it phase through him.

This is all assuming the best case scenario for Minato in that he tags someone, appears in front/behind them and lands a successful slash. These are the only ninjas who without avoiding the blow (but in some cases activating jutsu before, during, or after the jutsu) could survive.

Any Sussano user might make it impossible for Minato to hit them, and that's assuming he hasn't succumbed to genjutsu against the likes of someone like Itachi.

Someone like Nagato may make it impossible for Minato to even get close to him.

Does he have a chance? Of course, but it's extremely small. There are too many characters who could tank it, and most would never allow something like that to happen in the first place.

A Question:
If a Susano is sort of a barrier / shield and not like an aromr,
then is it possible that minato mark someone with a tag and then hit him while bypassing the susano ???

I highly suggest you re-read that fight because Kisame completely tools Killerbee until Samehada betrays him. But yea that technique is village ending, Kisame is after all the "Tailed Beast without tails".
