So, taking inspiration from the double standards of people who think Sasuke is an asshole, I decided to make this thread to point out the double standards and what makes Naruto an asshole. Because it's painstakingly obvious people will ignore facts and anything else to make Sasuke look bad, and to make Naruto look better than he really is.
Naruto wants to be a hokage, right? Well, in the beginning, he wanted to be a hokage not to protect the village, but so he could be acknowledged, which is pretty selfish. He was willing to beat Hiruzen up, an elderly who was a better choice for hokage than Naruto. Naruto didn't take into account the consequences his actions could have - what if other villages took this chance to take on Konoha because they saw Naruto as weak? Now he wants to be a hokage to protect the village, but it's still selfish because he's not prepared to be a hokage. Naruto isn't the type to do paperwork or read, which is what hokage must do from the looks of it, regardless of advisers. If he won't even bother to study, then he likely won't bother to do paperworks or even understand it, which is bad for a hokage.
People cried about Sasuke being all "I don't give a shit whether you want me to be hokage or not, I'll be one regardless," right? Yet no one complained when Naruto said the same in Part I, right? NO one wanted him to be the hokage, and some like Kiba even said he'll be the hokage, but Naruto acted like an asshole and flatout said no, he'll be the hokage. I mean, what an asshole. He didn't even take into account what others thought, he just blatantly said he'll be the hokage. Now though, since people likely want him to be the hokage no matter how dumb of a choice it is for now, it's all good. Though I hope Naruto doesn't accept like an asshole, considering he likely isn't ready yet. Neither he nor Sasuke should be hokage at this point, and it's pretty selfish and asshole of them to agree to be cooped up rather than go on missions for the village.
What about when he hit Konohamaru when they first met, or proclaimed rivalry with a kid smaller than him? That's bullying/child abuse. And he's a bad role model because he taught Konohamaru perverted jutsu... not only that, but Naruto yelled at Inari, a kid. He's such an asshole towards kids as well. Next thing you know, he'll be beating them with a bat if they don't listen to him.
And what about when he attacked Kakuzu to kill? Naruto shouldn't have used his most powerful attack to take Kakuzu out... Kakuzu could have still been saved. He was evil because of the other humans in the shinobi world, using him and all. Kakuzu was innocent, but Naruto still tried to kill him, the asshole. He was even willing to break all the bones in Sasuke's body to bring him back... his own best friend. What kind of an asshoel friend would beat the crap out of his own friend like that?
Not to mention, Naruto was stubborn when going to face Nagato. Rather than have backup against one of the most powerful fighter who controlled six bodies at once, Naruto chose to face Nagato by himself and risk a lot. He ignored the adults' opinions who knew better than he did and put Konoha and his life at risk by facing Nagato. I mean, what if the Kyuubi didn't save his ass from Nagato's chakra rod?
Naruto was no better when he was trying to get revenge on Neji, Deidara, and Pain for what they did to Hinata, Gaara, and Kakashi and Konoha. I mean, he's as much of an asshole as Sasuke is for getting revenge or trying to get revenge, even willing to kill (Deidara) for it.
Or what about Land of Iron where he tried to beg Raikage to leave Sasuke alone? That was selfish and assholish of him because not only did he put his own life and Kakashi and Yamato's lives at risk, but he also risked a diplomatic incident between the two villages. What if the Raikage took Naruto's squad as hostile and attacked them? Naruto also put Kakashi in great danger when he held him back so Naruto could rasengan Sasuke's chidori. That was so stupid because Kakashi couldn't defend himself and was open to any attack. What kind of an asshole teammate would put his partner in danger? Naruto wasn't evil like Sasuke when he fought Danzou.
The last but not the least, Naruto risking lives of the Alliance members to save the bijuu. He didn't even seem to care about killing the bijuu until Sasuke used Amaterasu. Juubi seems to be unstoppable, yet Naruto was wiling to risk countless of lives just to save the bijuu when it doesn't seem like he knew how he'd do it. You'd have to be a major asshole to be willing to sacrifice lives just to save seven chakra beings.
To conclude, Naruto is an asshole. Always was, always will be. Just like Sasuke.
