The difference is such that, that one White Beard is worth more than a 100 Narutos or Ichigos.

And one Dead White Beard is more epic than almost any of the moments in both mangas

I'm really not a hater. I really liked all three at the beginning. The way two of the stories developed was a let down. For example it would have been just fine if Bleach ended after saving Rukia(so good it deserves to be read twice). And Naruto just drags the story with pointless side stories. If it was straightforward it would have probably been better, also i can see that its being rushed.(The tasteless appearance of his parents)

More than artistic styles i think the main difference is story telling. In my opinion Bleach and Naruto were just poorly planned to begin with. Then again there is a ton of pressure on Oda since all his fans keep him in check with the story.

One Piece all the way.

i dont know about OP. i tried 100 chaps (i think).. i tried many episode for that matter .... i went some what really far .... but i couldnt find A SINGLE REASON WHATSOEVER TO CONTINUE IT. Trust me when i say that... may be i am the Odd one out but there wasnt a single wherewithal or any histrionics in Op that pleased me or enchanted me like you folks are.. so i ditched it hard... the fact that i continued so long was a feat of its own...i couldnt have unless a op freak was constantly nagging me on this issue every time i saw him..and by the time i made century...(or when near it) i thought it was enough and said it flat out that it sucked and thats was the end of OP for me
(no insult to the OP fans here)

crimsonlink310, to sum up basically you don't like Naruto because you don't like the main character? Well, ok.

warriorx, you just needed to write that you're OP tard - we would know it faster than reading all the post without any constructive criticism as they call it ^^

Overall Naruto's comedy is the worst of the 3 IMO and the action is the least heart-pounding for me.
There can be said many things about Naruto BUT even if I try to be objective, I can't say such thing about action scenes in Naruto - its one of those things which is uberly well done; the way Kishi portrays it, the way panels are drawn and perspective is shown, everything in action scenes is AT LEAST good. Saying that I was really trying to be objective.

shaheer, do not worry, you're not the only one - I'm probably somewhat influenced more by american comics thats why I find Naruto more attractive than OP, but oh well.. sometimes I read OP from week to week, sometimes I don't and then I read it to catch up to eventually talk in such topics like this, to know the stuff of what I'm up against, but surely its a different kind of thing to me then reading Naruto, so I somewhat understand you, hyhy ^^

Its much more than that but Naruto the character is 40% of the reason Naruto isn't in my top 10 list. Its similar to how people don't read Bleach and One piece because they dislike Ichigo or Luffy or one of the supporting character like Orihime and Chopper.

I agree to a certain point like Gai vs Kisame and Sage Naruto vs Pain but that happens very rarely in my eyes. I just like the action better in OP and Bleach, maybe if Naruto had more stealth kills or even more Rasenshuriken deaths I would be happier with Naruto but oh well.

Off topic: I never got why Kakashi had to kill Kakuzu with a Raikiri when the Rasenshuriken should have done the job perfectly well enough.

Anyways I'll still read Naruto and maybe one day I'll look back and accept Naruto back into my top 10 again but for now its just One piece and Bleach who hold the bulk of my attention.

I don't want to be offensive, but you seem to be the type who likes "BOOM""KAZUMM""BAM" action.Granted Op is not really like that, but Bleach and DBZ are.You don't seem to enjoy well through-thought fights with strategy. The examples you have given are the best proof.I mean,Guy vs Kisame? It was rather meh actually.Big jutsu and no tactics.Ao vs Fuu was better in my opinion,or equally good.Don't forget, this is a ninja manga.Same goes for Naruto vs Pain, even though it was really good with a mix of everything.

Off topic:Kakuzu had three lives and Fuuton Rasenshuriken killed only two.In the end Kakuzu had only one life and it would be impossible to get any info out of him,so he was useless in the eyes of Konoha and by killing Kakuzu they an enemy less, obviously.

No you're not be offensive since I probably gave off that impression but we were talking about epic moments and those kinds of things are usually
"BOOM""KAZUMM""BAM"
compared to the finer strategy moments of the manga. In the future don't judge a book by its cover too fast. ;)

Kisame vs Gai had some tactics in it though because it was escape vs interception with Kisame repeatedly trying to get away but resorted to finishing off Gai before he left.

Heck I''m an RTS player so I know the good strategy fights like Sasuke vs Deidara, Shikamaru's fights and the Sasori fight.

Fuu was the container for the 7 tails, I think you meant Fu Yamanaka who is part of ROOT but Ao vs Fu was rather bland and anti-climatic with how easily Fu won with a trap even if it was part of his strategy only to end up leaving Ao's body due to Mei.

Off topic:Kakuzu had three lives and Fuuton Rasenshuriken killed only two.In the end Kakuzu had only one life and it would be impossible to get any info out of him,so he was useless in the eyes of Konoha and by killing Kakuzu they an enemy less, obviously
lol Misunderstanding much? My hidden question was, why wasn't the Rasenshuriken strong enough to outright kill Kakuzu right after it struck him and it had to be Kakashi who finished him off?

crimsonlink310, ah, I get your point - basically you would like more "ninja" which ppl imply with ninjas in reality with stealth mode on and such :p BUT we all know that's not gonna happen with such kind of shounens <even if there are glimpses of such things> Sooner or later Naruto had to go with BOOMS and such things, like Bleach or OP did <though the consistency can be discussed, but I don't want to dwell into it xd> I'm basically DB fan, so I like such things xP

Its similar to how people don't read Bleach and One piece because they dislike Ichigo or Luffy or one of the supporting character like Orihime and Chopper.
Personally I don't like such arguments <I'm speaking in general of course> - its personal taste for the matter than actual criticism of the manga. If someone likes the character or dislikes - it means that mangaka was good at creating characters in general <just because it affects readers that way or the other; just because someone doesn't like certain character doesn't mean the manga is bad> The best example of REALLY "good" character in this case, in Naruto's case, is Uchiha Sasuke - the way such character creates controversy amongst fans is the epitome of insanely well created character <I think that I put myself clear: I can like or dislike a particular character, but if we are going to dwell into if character is good or bad in criticism mode <xd>, than personal tastes we should abandon for good> BUT I can see the logic in what you said earlier: Kishi from the moment of putting Naruto into "begging mode" on Raikage and later stuff just basically ruined the thing which would put Naruto on a more badass side, especially concerning the development he put Naruto through using Nagato. That's rather good criticism of character rather than personal tastes <Kishi didn't evaluate it well> I has so much hope back than.. somewhat I still have, but I don't know anymore what Kishi wants to do with Naruto's character anymore ^^'

Still, if you're reading Naruto manga nonetheless, maybe there will be time when you will change your mind and say "oh I get it, that's what Kishi was trying to do with those kind of things <putting Naruto in begging mode and such> and Naruto is a good character" - at least I'm looking forward to it, manga still goes on and until it ends, everything possible xD

Kisame vs Gai had some tactics in it though because it was escape vs interception with Kisame repeatedly trying to get away but resorted to finishing off Gai before he left.
I think Googlez-kun was referring to the actual fighting rather than the "background" plot which surrounded the battle ^^

btw. Fuu is also spelled like that with Root member if I recall correctly though now that you mentioned it Fu I also saw :p

Naruto: Even though I agree with those who say that the main character usually seems too much stupid and acts how he prolly shouldn´t, it´s still my favorite manga. Kishi is able to put so much tense and emotions in just a few panels, when it´s fit, that it amuses me (Minato and Kushina protecting Naruto against Kyubi, so well draw, that I shed some tears there, as well as somewhere else too). I love how fights are made (except for the Gai vs. Kisame). And what I value prolly most about this manga over the other two is that is has moral and philosophic values behind the main story. Of course that Kishi has sometimes weeker moments, but for me, he is one of the best storytellers in manga at this time.

One Piece: Actually, I started reading this manga just around 1/2 year ago, when it was rainy outside, didn´t have much to do, not many mangas I would want to read. (Well, I read like 50 chapters 4 years ago and didn´t like it that much.) And since it was really popular, I decided to give it a try. I like the interaction between characters + for this kind of story it´s good that it´s pretty straightforward and 95% time focused on the main character. On the other hand, maybe it´s just me, but the characters seem to me just too little looked into, to plain - meaning, they have the same personality all the time and it doesn´t flutter almost at all = no character development.

Bleach: Well, well, well. When I took up reading manga, this was my second one (after Death Note). I really liked it and thus continued reading it. Right now, I am reading it only to know how will it end, because since the start of the Fake Karakura Town arc, the story is just one big mess, too much random stuff, the flow of the story is just nowhere to be seen, drawing is still good, but that cannot make up for the rest of it.

Those were my 5 cents :amuse

please don´t bash me too much :darn

Up until the most recent chapters I found Bleach to be suitable only for satisfying my love of battles and epic fight scenes. In comparison to the other two Bleach lacks depth in terms of its plot in my opinion and much like in Naruto, side characters are too often brushed aside for long periods, especially tragic if Ichigo or Aizen isn't your favourite character.

I personally know that I need to give One Piece more of a chance. I read up chapter 40 or something like that while I recently reached episode 30 or something like that in the anime. The anime was unforgivably drawn out and at times felt like a genuine task, although I have been informed that this ceases to be the case after a while.

Therefore I chose Naruto. I found the early stages of the plot to be particularly engaging with some slightly sinister undertones. Admittedly this initial euphoria has died down in recent times, but I still find the whole series to be somewhat more likable than the others mentioned. Granted it has nothing on my favourite manga 20th Century Boys.

From the few individuals I know who have a liking for anime/manga, Naruto is the more popular, however I'm aware that in Japan One Piece is substantially more popular than Naruto. Naruto seems to appeal more to Western tastes.

in originality, creativity and narration one piece win by far, the other points we have a hard competition between the big three.

In narration OP wins by far, hands down. In regards to originality and creativity, there's really no difference - both mangakas used some pretty neat stuff to make their universes in mangas pretty cool and with pretty cool ideas as for powers/abilities/special characteristic and so on <like shikai/bankai/dfruits/ninjutsu and so on> The only problem would be HOW the mangakas show this stuff.

the mangaka of One Piece acts like an author. He treats this series like a novel that he's planning out. he creating a dramatic tension, interest and intrigue in a story by several ways (with the univers of his world, personnages, battles, circumstances emotional, comedy, strong plot ....)
narration is one of one piece's greatest asset, and oda have more novelist approach than kishi or kubo (the worst storyteller in jump ....)
Each reader has different preferences, but OP is written very...well. thats a fact.

Frankly speaking - I don't think so. Yes, I posted up there that in narration OP wins and whatnot, but let's be fair here: pace of the manga to absorb its reader is reaaally, really slow. If someone doesn't have patience, s/he will put manga aside until it really becomes interesting. Its not a measure of worth of the manga, but still.. and: every mangaka is an "author" of manga, whether its good or bad.

About "more novelist approach" - I have no idea what it is, but if other mangaka doesn't have it, you seem to imply he's far worse than the one, who uses such approach. My question is: why? <plz give me examples, from OP, WHEN it is really shown this so called "novelist approach"> And no, I'm not believing you, I'm just curious at the new stuff I learn here xd

I'm afraid I can't contribute anything seeing how I only read Naruto. However, if we're comparing a "novelist" approach, I think we should compare the structure of One Piece (or the other two) with a few of Charles Dickens' works.

Charles Dickens wrote his stories in a monthly serialization so if you were to label any mangaka as a "novelist" writer, compare their work to his.

lol its not like he has multiple well known manga for its brilliant story like Naoki Urasawa who is well known for 20th & 21st Century Boys Monster & my personal favorite (out of his mangas) Pluto maybe if he wrote more well know manga then he can probably be given that title i wouldn't even Give Eiichiro Oda that title Because he is only known for One Piece. who knows this could possibly be these authors first & only hit mangas

One Piece:
and 95% time focused on the main character.
If it was focused on Luffy 95% of the time we wouldn't know as much as we know about the one piece world today

On the other hand, maybe it´s just me, but the characters seem to me just too little looked into, to plain - meaning, they have the same personality all the time and it doesn´t flutter almost at all = no character development.
Elaborate on the Bolded part Because last time i checked Nami acts nothing like Boa Hancock, Robin,
Tashigi, Nojiko, Califa, Perona, ect. these Do not Act the same in any kind of way

The reason why you don't see to much Character Development because it all most of the time there development happened in the past. but to say there is No character development period is just wrong.

Just look at Robin Luffy Usopp & even Nami
Robin- Went from calling each crew member by there title to there name when Enies lobby arc was over (thats character development)

Luffy - remember the events that took place at Shabondy archipelago from the auction to when the strawhat crew got blasted away we can see that Luffy was more mature there then where he was at at the start of the series & after the war was over Luffy had more character development Just look at the commotion he caused at Amazon Lily Luffy was @ war with his Plight

Usopp - Went from hiding behind his crew mates to fighting his own battles Usopp had quite a bit of Character Development at water 7 he even left the crew for a while. & look @ him now. he vowed to get stronger and now he is

Nami - went Hogging her gold to sharing it. thats not to much character development but its there whether you see it or not

this makes me question about how much you really read into the series

I think he meant that the characters don't change much once they are established but like you pointed out he is wrong on that point too. Every main character got his own arc where it is explained why they behave how they behave. During that arc they develop further and after their own arc they keep evolving in a subtle but noticeable way. One Piece has an incredible amount of character development outside of Strawhat crew. Most of the characters they meet go through development. The Skypia arc has tons of it (including the flashback). I will just throw out a bunch of names from the last 2 arcs: Coby, Helmeppo,Hancock, Mr.3, Mr2, Crocodile and I could go on for hours with characters from other arcs.

I still don't get what people like about One Piece.
Even more I lost interest in the general genre of (serious) Shounen further. Even the girls stuff like Shouju is more interesting to me right now as it's less standartised :P So, I rather stick to "specialised" Shounen genre stuff, like Full Metal Panic which is totally focussed on comedy (in the episodes I cared about at least :P) and Seinen.

Frankly put, I lost my sense of taking the attempted seriousness of Shounen easy, so it starts annoying me sometimes. This especially affects my image of One Piece (which can't be taken seriously but doesn't appear funny to me either), while Naruto at least succeeded in beeing serious and touching in some moments. Bleach on the other hand became to dogged as I could still enjoy it. In the beginning it was easier in a way, it didn't appear so serious so it was enjoyable to explore the characters and the universe.

I used to hate OP because of the shitty art. The art is still pretty bad imo but the manga is really hilarious and funny. It isn't terribly deep either, imo, but it is still enjoyable. The action is also well done at times. I got over the hate once I gave it a real chance. I am not saying everyone will have the same result though.

Naruto Bleach & one Piece art was all mediocre @ the begining of the series. i honestly dont understand how one piece art is so Bad
The characters are well drawn Has good backgrounds & good shading Just because its missing that generic anime look don't means its bad & if you compare it now i would Put one Piece above the other 2 because it just looks Better & polished

Should you be reading manga period seeing as how you don't know the difference between Genre & Demographic

The problem you are not considering is correctness in anatomy.Sure, the styles were not really developement in the beginning, all those manga-ka were beginners. But Kubo's and Kishimoto's anatomy was almost perfect and shown in their style.Oda's art was just well, his style, but not really anatomically correct.
I like Oda's art, because it suits the story and the humour perfectly and it's not too bad,but i understand why people tend to dislike it.
Kisame vs Gai had some tactics in it though because it was escape vs interception with Kisame repeatedly trying to get away but resorted to finishing off Gai before he left.
As JUunior already mentioned,it's not the background that i was referring to.What i was trying to say was that in the end they were just throwing big jutsu around. The fight itself was not bad,but it was not as entertaining as other fights,as it did not have this tactical thinking i expected from a shinobi of Kisame's caliber.

Fuu was the container for the 7 tails, I think you meant Fu Yamanaka who is part of ROOT but Ao vs Fu was rather bland and anti-climatic with how easily Fu won with a trap even if it was part of his strategy only to end up leaving Ao's body due to Mei.
It's actually フー 山中,so Fuu/Fū Yamanaka;)I thought it was pretty neat,as it was very ninja-like and straight to the point.Ao's attempt to fight him with words was well done and Fuu's mercilessness and direct actions have shown how Ne-Shinobi work in a good way.

lol Misunderstanding much? My hidden question was, why wasn't the Rasenshuriken strong enough to outright kill Kakuzu right after it struck him and it had to be Kakashi who finished him off?
Because it was not strong enough,it's as simple as that...Why doesn't the normal Rasengan take 100 lives?Because it's not strong enough.Kakuzu had three lives and FRS only took two lives because it was only that strong.
It's probably a misunderstanding,as i don't see how one could not figure that out himself....
Replied in bold.
