It is said that specifically...JINCHUURIKI, will have specific parts of their body that will be altered slightly due to the affect of their beast on them. For Naruto we've always thought the slits on his cheek were the result of the Nine-tails being sealed inside him and him growing up with it. But I tell you, that this fact is wrong. Kishimoto put those slits on Naruto's face BEFORE he became a Jinchuuriki, therefore Naruto has these due to either just genes or because Kishimoto would later expand on those scars through Kyuubi mode when they get larger. Or simply due to growing inside Kushina's belly in the presence of the Kyuubi's chakra.
