(this might be on another thread so I appologise if it is) ..So, as we have all seen, when Naruto transforms in to his Rikudou mode he shares the same necklace as the Rikudou Sennin, seen here :
And here :
I believe this necklace to be part of the "Imperial Regalia of Japan" which we have already seen 2 of the 3 items of which it consists...1 in Itachi's possesion : the Yata Mirror, seen here :
And the second in Orochimaru's possesion, the sword of Kusangi, seen on many occasions, shown here :
So thats 2 of the 3 items named, now I believe Naruto's necklace to be the Yasakani no Magatama jewel, These 3 items represent the 3 primary virtues :
Valour : Sword of Kusangi
Wisdom : Yata Mirror
Benevolence : Yasakani no Magatama Jewel
This last virtue, benevolence is everything Naruto is about as a character, all of his fights have pointed to this and now.. just like when Sasuke pointed out about how Susanoo is awakened after Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi have been awakened, perhaps this legendary item required him to have control over the Kyubi's vast chakra to gain access to it (you could not get much more benevolent than overcoming such a huge mass of hatred and then still caring for the Kyubi in the following comments) Now the question should be what would this legendary item allow him to do? perhaps his new sensory skills are part of its powers?
