Who is it? I mean ultimately they all serve their purposes and it would seem that just like his father, he had multiple partners. However who is the most suited to a combat situation with Negi? Surely it's between Kotaro and Asuna? And for me, it's Kotaro all the way, you can tell that Akamatsu will drag out the Asuna story in a different way and while her understanding of Negi is second to none, I'm not sure her understanding with Negi is as high as Kotaro?
