PS, I am exploring ways to add random texture, something which I am accustomed to in traditional art, but also something that is lacking in the digital form, and man am I a lazy detailer if I have to think about it on top of doing it! :facepalm

What did you used again? My first impression it looks almost like a Mona Lisa work and done in the 'old-fashioned' way. I thought this is a really fresh outlook compared to the usual stuff which everyone is doing :amuse

Nami, I used photoshop. I am not much of a manga artist, but I am a fan. :P

Which leads me to googlez-kun. Yes I think you are right, the face itself does not remind me of Nell the manga character, but things get lost easily when going from manga-->painting without a reference. To be honest, it's more of a matter of preference if you let things like this bother you or not. :) This is the face that came to My mind when trying to paint a Nell made of flesh, I am sure everyone has their own!

btw here's a version with less 'sharpness' going on

If it's an abstract painting of Nell from memory, you're doing fine there. What Nell needed is more sharp contours around her face, this is more chubby looking. Also, still prefer the 1st version as the tones are richer. :)
