What's with DEPARTURE it is still the opening song until now?!

Obviously since they change the ending song often it's a decision of marketing. My bet is that they try to make a classic.

It's not that bad, either. At this point I could recite it without too much trouble and I've still to skip it (I tend to do that with other anime) so I'm fine with it.

I don't mind. I've said over and over again my feelings on Departure as a song (I mean, it's no Smile Bomb), but I can appreciate the homage to older anime and YYH by keeping the same song, but changing the opening sequences.

As long as they actually change the OP sequence again when the ants come in, I'm satisfied.

I think I said something like this in the discussion topic, but this time the scenes fitted Departure the most, compared to all versions. It renovated my love for Departure and pumped it up to eleven, it was just that damn good.

So, for now, I'm really glad that they're sticking with Departure.

Until I read this topic I was completely against them keeping the song for the opening, it was getting a bit on my nerves with the repetition. But now that I know it's an hommage for YYH (although there's obviously a cost factor underlying this), I guess I'm ok with it!

At the end of the day, I'd rather one memorable song than many forgettable ones. Departure is a great song as well regardless, it's lyrics are really inspiring too.

Until now, i don't a see a problem with it, and tbh it fits the theme of adventures that's captured throughout most of the anime.

But what makes me wonder is it going to fit into the ants arc?

I expect them to change it by the end of GI arc.

I remember reading someone say once that HxH sucked because it doesn't recognize that we're in the 21st century. I hope to never hear that conformed statement again.

I read a comment on crunchyroll where someone said that HxH must have the world record for longest opening sequence, completely ignoring YYH, DB, DBZ, and Toriko...

I think most people are used to the Bleach and Naruto format. New OP every 25 ep, new ending every 12 ep.

I'm perfectly fine with an anime series keeping the same opening song for its entire run as long as the visuals change with every arc. Perhaps I'm just old school, but it doesn't bother me at all and I can't understand why anyone would make a big deal out of it.

I've always sorta kinda liked Departure. Now it's really grown on me and it would be kinda weird if they change it. Maybe chimera ant would be a better time to change it but if they don't then I'd have no problem with it.

At least they got rid of Gon running at Hisoka at the ending finally.
