Discussion New Mugiwara flag

Hey guys, I don't know if you noticed or if someone already posted a thread on the matter, but in chapter 602 in the last page you see that the strawhat's flag changed a little bit, give me your opinion on it.

PS: personally i think it looks a bit like white beard's mustache.

It's because of the coating, it's not a new flag.

I though a similar thing when I saw it too. However I do have to agree with the consensus, if it was actually changed it would be different on the giant sail as well.

The only person who can decide what the flag looks like is Luffy and Luffy decided to set sail almost immediately after getting on board for the first time in years so there wasn't enough time to change it. The flag might be changed if Shanks decides have his hat returned back to him since the Strawhat pirates can't be called that without a Strawhat. Although Shanks might give the hat to Luffy or Luffy gets a new Strawhat.

technically that isn't Shank's hat, that's roger's and roger gave it to shanks. ^_^

Well I posted it just before the last chapter came out so it was originally Shank's hat until Chapter 603.

What other well going name would Oda be using for his favourite pirate(s)...

Mugiwara no Luffy... Mugiwara no Kaizoku-dan... Sounds pretty perfect to me. I don't think Oda would change one of the most significant part of Luffy's character design that hasn't changed since the Romance Dawn oneshots. So... No change to Luffy meangs no chances to neither the crew's name nor their flag.
