Re: The NFL Thread

I thought Romo looked really good. Despite his offensive line being like a revolving door at times he kept his cool and got it done. If your a cowboys fan I think you got to be pretty happy with how he played.

Re: The NFL Thread

So the Cowboys won at metlife eh...not too surprised the giants offense needs work. Anyway..........

LET'S GET ON TO SOME SUNDAY PICKS!!

Bears over Colts
Eagles over Browns
Patriots over Titans
Lions over Rams
Chiefs over Falcons
Jaguars over Vikings
Saints over Redskins
Bills over Jets (Jets will probably still be suffering from offensive identity crisis)
Seahawks over cardinals
Panthers over Buccaneers
Broncos over Steelers
Ravens over Bengals
Chargers over Raiders
Texans over Dolphins
49ers over Packers (oh don't shoot me!)

Those are my picks. I think we should keep tabs at the end of the week on who got the most predictions right! Have a nice friendly contest throughout the season :)

Indeed, while I like the Chiefs and they often get off to a good start, I think the Falcons have too much of a fire underneath them with the chance to win the division this year to lose, although it is on the road. I also don't think that highly of Matt Ryan, so it's a total toss up.

Re: The NFL Thread

Arrowhead is a tough place to play. Kansas City was most likely a playoff team before they lost Jamaal Charles. Then things sort of went to shit. Romeo Crennel is a good coach, did what others couldn't do in Cleveland...win. He has a much better team there. They should be decent. Plus Atlanta's defense is underwhelming.

You do have a point there, but will Jamaal Charles be the same this year?

You have to remember that Mike Fox also goes for idiotic 4th down conversions, which probably cost them that first game against the Saints last year.

Re: The NFL Thread

That's not a certainty coming off injury. But it did happen quite early in the season last year. He's a top 5 back IMO when healthy

Re: The NFL Thread

Yeah, he is, but we've seen how often RBs get injured and then are just never the same.

Re: The NFL Thread

You sure? I think with top-tier RBs when that happens it's later in their career and it just expedites them going to the trash heap. Along with other minor wear and tear. Charles is still young.

He is, but even if he's fine, he still won't be the same at the beginning of the season. He'll probably get more into the swing of things as the season goes on, but his injury is a big part of why I picked the Chargers to win the division, even though they suck as well.

---------- Post added at 05:00 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:28 AM ----------

Now that the three judge panel has overturned the bounty suspensions, I put the Saints back as the division winner. For me, even though Jonathan Vilma won't be back until week 6 or 7 most likely, the fact that he will be back and everything has more impact than Sean Payton being out the entire year. Even though Sean Payton's a decent coach, him being out won't have a dramatic impact on the season for the Saints, who weren't going to be competing for the SB anyway.

Re: The NFL Thread

You don't think the Saints are still a contender?

They can be a contender, but I didn't actually give them a shot at winning the SB last year and I'm not giving them a shot this year either. I look at the Patriots, the Packers, the Ravens, and possibly the 49ers and the Ravens as the teams that legitimately have a shot at winning the SB. The Saints are on the outside looking in...

My thoughts exactly. The Saints still have a chance here, although Brees throws a pick, which appears to end it as he made it back to the three yard line.

Re: The NFL Thread

^Two minute mark approaching yeah this game is over. This is a good win for the redskins, and RG3 a rookie QB going on the road and beating the Saints in one of the toughest stadiums in the NFL is admirable.
