Do appreciate you not answering to the last comment, me being new to comment here.

That out of the way I've got a few points:
1) Let's leaving the romantic bit there - I don't think Zoro will leave some person hurting kids and families alone - it's not his way - we say in Wano
2) Zoro's natural fk everything I will persevere started from Thriller Bark
3) Zoro surerly understands that Imu is still back there with Luffy and Loki
4) Zoro believes in Sanji, they are bros
5) We don't know to the end how Pentagrams (edit here) work
6) Sanji ?

Share your thoughts please

P.S I just don't understand how you guys through Manga haven't seen the strings and knots of this C Haki being there on Wano, andnow we are talking about their development...
Apologies, must have missed it.

Zoro will probably try to kill him, I just don't know if Oda will allow for a God Knight to die here. If 2 God Knights die, that would be a major loss to the WG. I don't think there are even replacements for these 2 if they go down here.
Then you also have the possibility that if we assume 2 GKs get killed, Gunko could be a 3rd death in theory - the WG losing 3 major sources of their military?
I think they will be defeated or be forced to retreat.

Sommers is someone that has been around since God Valley which was 38 years ago? A death here wouldn't be justified imo, it seems too ordinary. I would more see this as the introduction between the SHs and the GKs, and then in the final battle, we will get a conclusion.
I think Sommers and Killingham definitely get defeated - I imagine Gunko would be taken captive back to Mariejoa and Imu will punish her - this would make Brook want to go to Mariejoa, this is also a good additional way to build on the rivalry between Luffy and Imu - Luffy tends to be motivated by the feelings of his friends, and Gunko (Princess Shuri) being someone special to Brook will be another motivator.
There is almost no arc in the series where the villain is defeated without being some sort of antagonist or enemy of his friends - Luffy's friend's feelings are ultimately what motivate his actions.

Gunko did say earlier in the arc that they could teleport via the Pentagram, but the Giants kids can't since they aren't Knights, so it does serve as an escape route that might potentially come into play.

The WG coming to Elbaph is also to acquire additional power since the Shichibukai system is gone, and they're feeling the loss of this power. They're so desperate that Imu(WG) went to Elbaph even though he was too scared to do so when Harold died. Imu (WG) is desperate, they are low on strength. Unless Oda will resolve the death of 2-3 God Knights with maybe an alliance with Blackbeard, even then, the loss of 2 GKs is still a huge blow even if they had the alliance of an Emperor.

I may be wrong, but it is just how I see things possibly developing. It can go in so many ways, but fundamentally, I don't know if their deaths here would be justified. Defeat? I can see it? Retreat? I can see it, I think it is necessary in conclusion to fight another day.

Guess he's simply unfit to wield that sword. He's from Shepard (sorry if it's wrong, I forgot how to write this) family just like one of Gorosei, right? Gram would be probably better used by that Gorosei. He would deffinetly know how use its power to the max. Since Sommers dosen't seem to know how to do it you could say that Imu basicaly gave fancy toy to baby who dosen't know how to play with it. I feel like this will be a reason for his death. Well, at least partly.
I think he kinda did... ONCE.. the first time it was showcased... now he is just using it along his spikes...but i can't see any explosion.. on this chapter you can even see how he added spikes to it, like a spiked club, but that's its.. what a waste...

I tought i was goin to see a 1000 times better version of Mr5 and Ganzui combined.. How a power alike the Bomu Bomu will be at 100%.

Cmon men... not even the spikes he launched explode!?...

Something that to me seems a bit odd is that the number of followers Imu has does not seem to match the number of ancient kings that kneeled to him. The world government was founded by 20 kings. Imu is one of them which means means the other 19 became his followers. Except for nefertari lily who bailed which left 18 followers. Now, the throne actually has exactly 19 blades. I suppose that means imu's weapon is there at the throne and nefertari's is missing? Or is it the other way around and nefertari's weapon is there and only imu's is missing? It feels like when imu draws his personal weapon it should be special compared to the others.

Yeah, I took it that since Imu was one of the 20 kings himself, that his sword is counted as one of the 19 and the missing blade is indeed the one of the Nefetari family.

And I'm still convinced that the weapons were used for a ritual linked to Imu's literal Devil Fruit. So I guess his sword being more special than the other 18 is a given.

One thing is for sure...he surely screw them,,and their goal... whateaver the HELL it happened with Joyboy (I belief he trick them into believing JB was the enemy) -- (And i was surprised in the shadowy FB to see THE KINGS themselves fighting against JB to be honest)-- Imu's totally wipe his ass with the belief of

" NO KING OF THE WORLD MUST EXIST"

And nobody should sit on the empty throne... i mean THEY LITERALLY SURRENDER THE WEAPONS after the war as an OATH--- buttt...i guess they didnt count Imu's would live forever... he just needed to wait until all of them died naturally-- and became a "Hidden" King OF the world... after dat he just resurrected the weapons for special ocations like this one on Elbaph ...

So literally ... he is screwing on the Original Oath made by the previous Kings,,,thats for sure.. this is what lead me to belief... he brainwash them,, and turn them against JB...

What exactly is retconned?
There is a lot we know about Haki, it just requires reading between the lines and you will see how consistent it is.
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

I don't think this is the case.
Devil fruits depending on how powerful they are have some level of resistance to Haki.
Akainu was cut by Marco and Vista with Haki, and it didn't do much damage.

For example as well, Law said back in Punk Hazard that his DF powers became strong enough to overpower Vergo's Haki. So, this is not about "Maki" being a counter to Haki, Devil fruits have some level of resistance to Haki by default. The stronger the Haki, the more effective it is against Devil fruits.

Even Wano and Law's battle with BB shows this. Big Mom and Kaido couldn't get teleported with room due to the strength of their Haki - Law could reverse Doc Q's sex change.

I don't think the translation is wrong, I think the interpretation is probably incorrect. It's just the standard DF Haki dynamics:
  • Weak Haki will not be effective against a Powerful Devil fruit.
  • Strong Haki will be,
If Haki was a default counter to Devil fruits, there will not be any need to make it stronger. The default needs to be stronger to be effective, unless it's against a DF that doesn't have much natural defence against Haki.

Definitely something you're born with, there's literally no way to even dispute it at this point other than just wishing otherwise. The only things that can't be taught are things you're born with.

"Knowing yourself" is not something you're born with, everyone will eventually come to know themselves fully if they choose to.

I don't think it is specifically about knowing one's self too, I think it's more to do with self-belief or mindset.
Zoro and Sanji (people with CoC potential) are people who didn't see themselves as being possible candidates for CoC due to misinformation (Note: I think this is Oda breaking the 3rd wall and addressing the Fandom because they have been saying you need to be a captain to be a CoC user which is something I always said was just not true).
Compare Zoro and Sanji to Luffy, he is someone who just never doubts himself, it's not that he knows himself, he just doesn't set limits on himself and he believes he can do anything. He doesn't restrict himself. Zoro and Sanji who boxed themselves in mentally and thus limited their ability to use their CoC by the looks of it. It's thanks to his ignorance ironically that he has this unshakeable confidence and self-belief.
Sanji and Zoro being far more cognitive and logical ironically limited themselves due to their intelligence that Luffy lacks - I'd say this is even true in reality, sometimes, having some level of ignorance will make you more successful than someone who is very critical and thinks all the time. Ignorance is bliss is a real thing.

General comment - Undirected at anyone (Addressing a community misconception)
Another thing (not directed at you btw) is that Haki is also not willpower (another fandom misconception) - what Rayleigh said is that willpower is strength - and when he said that, he meant that in context that it usually takes several decades to learn Haki, but if Luffy believes in himself and doesn't give up (essentially what willpower is) while training hard, he can learn to use Haki.

This is the equivalence of being told that it takes 2 years to finish a course, but if you have discipline and willpower, you can finish it in 6 months and start making lots of money - thus willpower is strength, it's not the actual power - the power/Haki is the goal that can be achieved quickly if one has willpower (dedication to follow through no matter what).

It is like anything, if you have willpower, it is strength (e.g. you want to learn a new course, new skill, achieve a goal - the willpower to not give up is the greatest strength in achieving that goal). Willpower is the fuel to achieve things - thus, again, why it is strength, it's not the actual power nor is it Haki.

If you even question what willpower is - it becomes so clear that willpower is not Haki like a lot of people in the fandom think.
  • Willpower is the choice to do something.
Haki is not the choice to do anything, it is a power.
No matter how tired you are, you can always decide on what to do - Willpower is a mental process, it's a decision.

Haki unlike willpower, is not a choice. It's like stamina. You can use it, but it will deplete at some point. You can run a marathon and stamina depletes, you might still want to continue running, but you physically can't move - mentally you want to continue and but stamina is not a choice, it's a resource that is finite/limited.
Haki is something that is finite (like stamina) meaning it can deplete, it is not a mental process, it's not a decision, it's a skill - Willpower cannot deplete, you can choose to do something, or not do something - this is not depletion, it is still choice.

When Luffy fought Katakuri, his Haki depleted. His will(power) to fight didn't. He still wanted to fight, but because Haki depleted, he had to hide. So, this idea that Haki is Willpower is just not true.
One of the things I wish the community/fandom would come to understand but I doubt this will be ever understood by most until maybe after the series ends or Oda elaborates explicitly.

Lol, I argued this so much back on OroJackson 😂.

It just made no sense that Shanks would be rivals with 1 and the other scarred him, and these people weren't also CoC users? And then one of them was so strong that Shanks didn't outright go to fight him even when he just started his crew, he said it's not time meaning he knew it would be risky.
There are just some things that don't require explicit evidence and can just be reasonably assumed - I don't need to see Mihawk use CoC to know or assume he has it.
And the thing about Navy officers not being able to utilise CoC, that just never made sense to me either, something I also argued a lot - I am glad the series is slowly giving explicit information to confirm these things.
Then why luffy's can affect kaido being rubberize.

As kaido have stronger haki

Well this might be true or alternatively the whole story is a cover up of the true story which is possibly the first 18 Haven been sweet talked into a pact forfeiting their lives in order to grant Imu more demonic powers. After all summoning circles are a thing so blood prices should not be a, stretch either.

I am inclined to thinking the kings were in on it with Imu. Given the framing way back in the day there were multiple powers at play. The WG formed by Imu and the 20 kings, Joyboy's nation and the wherever the heck the king of the world Davy jones fit into this. These kings selling their sousl to imu, the devil, to win and secure their legacies is not a particularly hard thing to believe. Specially if they are aware the world will sink 800 years later for whatever reason.
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

That said, I can't rule out the appeal of Imu tricking them. It'd be very devil like and it'd also make the tenryubito somewhat tragic figures in the sense that Imu highjacked their ancestors, indoctrinated them into believing they are gods and on top of that kept them as cattle meant to produce people with strong lineages at mary geoise. Both scenarios are fairly compelling IMO.

Yeah my initial take was that they deliberately took part in a (currently hypothetical) ritual. But I like the idea of them falling victim to Imu just as much.
Either way I can't picture the weapon dropping as anything but a devil related ritual that helped Imu somehow unleashing his full powers. Maybe some sort of awakening ritual, I mean the literal Devil Fruit having its own conditions for awakening wouldn't be surprising.

On a different note did anyone here read James Churchward's books about Mu? Are they worth reading? I mean them being the inspiration for Imu's name is a given but I wonder if they contain any more clues in regards to what Imu is or why exactly the ancient kingdom was overthrown by him.
