I have allways thought that Ace is just simply using their mother's name and not father's. I don't know why he wouldn't want to use his fathers name but that's just what I think.

Maybe because some important pirates like Whitebeard know Dragon name, and Ace tried to hide it.

Ace falls asleep like Luffy and Roger, and the personality is quite like Luffy/Garp, even he being much more serious.

About Whitebeard, I don't think care about Ace's relatives. As long as he/she loyal to him they are his men. As he say even the most stupid person in his crew he will tend him as his own child. Dragon itself as revealed is one of the most mysterious persons in one piece world as Robin claims. His ID revealed to public by Garp, where many peoples shocked by his words.

When we were introduced to the GL, the map showed that some islands are not connected to the magnetic fields... neither to get there, nor to get out of there... Do you guys think there might be a secret behind this islands?

I'm afraid that I don't recall the details of the map (excuse me to ask here which chapter it was in?)

However, I think that Oda could bring some of them up as a passing way to the important islands that have magnetic field - like the Shabondy Archipelago, (I remember that Hacchi once explained to Robin that this place didn't have the magnetic pull when she asked him about Log Pose-related problem) but the rest if they won't be brought up I guess that they're just residential islands for grandline people.

i think that there might be some relevance to those islands in the NW... maybe its a place where the revolutionars gather... or it might have some weird WG experiments going on in some of them...

Makes sense for the WG to have experiments. But if WB is the closest, it makes even more sense that he might have spheres of influence there.

Last idea is that the Revolutionaries have bases there.

Speaking of which, do we have ANY info on the main reason for Revolutionaries to fight the WG? Pirates are vagabonds which is understood. So what do the Revos have against the Gorousei?

I dunno if they have anything to do with the World History or something else.

I think that the idea of them being the Revolutionaries' bases is also a high possibility considering how Dragon's been sought after for a long time by the WG but people still knows so little information about him.

About the Revolutionaries' purpose; I believe that Robin's words are all we're told of it at the moment, but let me be one person to pass for predicting anything on it...

One Piece world doesn't seem to have many democracies... it make sense there being someone against it. Still it may have something to do with world history too.

I think those islands may be those of the grandline tribes, like Apoo (long arm tribe). and there are at least 3 more I could imagine not having such a connection and therefore developping in a different way.

Yeah the possibilities of those Islands are endless, but I like the theory of the Revolutionaries controlling them the best out of those proposed.

I though Apoo got his body like that because of the Devil Fruit he consumed. He could transform part of his body into any musical instrument. So he got body like that, the most noticing is his teeth . In the list of human starting bidding price that was given to Sanji by Duval/handsome http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/501/07/there're many kind of creatures. At least we haven't seen any dwarf, minkman, long arms, long legs, and snake neck. They must be exist in One Piece World. Since their price lower than a fishman at least they're more abundant or easier to capture .

@ toxun:Apoo is from the long arm tribe(look in the link above, the Edited Manga at onemanga was made from a speed translation and lacked some details) and has 2 elbows per arm which should be the particular feature of this tribe. As for the other features(like the teeth), it is, as you said,from the devil fruit he ate.
As for the other islands not connected, they may be like Shaobondy islands(that is not a real island. I was thinking of the movie where the island was in fact a giant tortoise)

This is about to go extremely off-topic but this has always bothered me a lot.

Montblanc Norland is an admiral right? The top level in the marines.

Equal to the power of the rest of the top level Admirals(or near their).

It's been referenced here where all of his suboordinates call him Admiral. This continues throughout the rest of the flashback with how his crew faithfully calls him that. It also makes sense since he was able to convince a king that their was a gold city somewhere.

His power has also been shown to be Admiral-like. The only thing we can use to compare is Nora the snake that Zoro and Wiper both try to kill. It was around the same size(perhaps a little smaller) as Kashigimi the snake Norland killed. Norland killed Kashigimi with one swipe. In comparison both Zoro and Wiper together couldn't kill off Nora. That shows how much power Norland has.

So what was Norland an Admiral?

Norland was an "admiral", BUT he was never shown to be a marine. thus he can not really be compared to our three beloved powerhouses. Norland was just some sailor and got the presumably highest rank of his kingdoms navy. (might compare it to Columbus as an expedition leader.)
Also I think I read that somewhere else already, might have been an SBS.

edit: not saying he isn't strong, in fact he has a badass moment here where you can also see his title & stuff.

Ya think a King of a country would dare to try and execute one of the Marine Headquarter's Strongest Fighting Force?

^ i don't think that you could compare Norland's power by the title because it's actually 400 years ago when he lived. the 12 kingdoms (current WG) destoryed the mysterious "Ancient Kingdom" 800 years ago. WG was still called "the 12 kingdoms" - world-exploring is still continuing. how can you suppose that the rank system was the same as now? + all those powerful admirals seen this days have yet to be given birth.

who knows Norland's probably very powerful. it's been stated above how he killed Kashimi the snake as strong as Nora in just one swip.
