Really, yeah you're probably right, I'm sure there will be some sort of explanation for it eventually though, I can't wait till the Yonko become a central figure of the manga, but I think that's going to be a while from now...i mean we have ID, the invasion, fisherman's island, new world (probably a few early arcs) and then we would be in Yonko territory....SO that's what 5 years from now LOL! CAN"T WAIT! LOL.... Out of curiosity how long have the longest arc's lasted in OP in the past.....like how long was alabasta etc, because I can't imagine Oda will take a year for JUST ID infiltration, 6 months maybe! I could see a year if he decided to do the invasion and or the SH crew side stories mixed in though....GOD DAMN IT we are so never going to get to New World LOL!

Pretty much wowzers, pretty much LOL! I never want OP to end but at the same time I want to know what happens....like right now haha......I love it when Oda was talking about when he read manga said "why couldn't the writers release a chapter every day", that's what I want haha :P

Thrilliar Bark lasted for around 50 chapters, 1 year... it was really fast compared to Ennies Lobby or Arabasta, everything Oda made recently was fast.

Why would he do that if he still has years of work and plot to work out/draw?

I won't say, that he has no ideas for other manga, but why think about other manga now?

Several people stated that his arcs are during less longer, that's all.

Why would he do it? The concept is greeeat, the main characters are great, many Dragonball inspirations, etc etc, and after all that he has hundreds of great concepts and characters waiting.

Do we think that this manga is going to last another 10 years.....he's got more than enough content to do it, i think it will really all come down to how quickly the rest of the crew is assembled, i wouldn't be surprised if the SH's get a move on if they had all members, AND if New World is opened up my WB's defeat....... If this war lasts a year i think that would be awesome but I think if it does end that quickly that will sort of signal the beginning of the end of OP just because without WB in the picture the race to the end of the Gl is back on, especially considering he WAS the major player......It is going to be a hell of a revaluation as to WHY no one can get to the end.......it would have to take 10 admirals to stop all four Yonkou from ever making it ALL this time.....my guess is you need the true history or something....i dunno

No. He's not. He said that One Piece was going to be his only long series, so he'd put all of his energies into making it as good as possible. He said that after One Piece, he'd probably do the occasional one shot, like Toriyama. And he said that in an interview about a year ago, I believe, so I doubt anything's changed, and that it ever will, for that matter. Oda's not working on anything else.

I think he wants to get to the New World, so he's making the arcs shorter. Besides, Sabaody and Amazon Lily were lead-in arcs, like most of the Baroque Works Saga stuff until Alabasta, Jaya, and the Davy Back Fight, all of which were about a volume or two each. Sabaody and Amazon Lily are about 3-3.5 volumes together, and then comes Impel Down and the war, so that these last few arcs aren't really so much shorter then usual. They're just lead-in arcs, the first since the Davy Back Fight, and alot of the people currently following the manga started around Water 7 at the earliest, so they've never been following a lead-in arc as it was serialized before. There are very few people that I've seen around who can say that they were reading One Piece back when the Edited Mangas were up to Skypiea.

Yeah I think I would agree with you on that one Imitorar, lots of my mates started reading when the first english dubs came out around the place, that was i think when Franky was introduced in th manga...I think, I personally didn't start reading until Oz was defeated (hehe I'm a nooby :P) But I seriously doubt that oda is in a rush for new world.....I mean New World was first mentioned like over 2 years ago wasn't it? Since thenwe have had TB, SA, AL (as you said) now we have ID and the war, which could last anywhere from 1-2 years, AND we still have mermaid isle which will probably last a least 3 to 6 months......if you call a year and a half a rush....well who knows, if you were 50 a year and a half wouldn't seem too long but to us late teens :P

Do you think he will create an Earth type DF ability?...or a WATER TYPE ABILTITY...or a WOOD TYPE ABILTY?....coz if ODA create a WATER TYPE ABILTITY then can you think that the owner of this fruit is in unfavorable condition?...coz if he/she sinks in to the water he/she will be drowned...and if creates a wood type ability then it becomes a naruto version ( 5 faces in the mountain for short )...and if he creates an earth type then it is familiar with Crocodile's power...but in Naruto 3RD Hokage's power is different with comparison to Gaara right?...if that is the case then it is possible that ODA will create an earth type user...^^

I've always thought that Oda's ability to come up with absolutely ridiculous and yet awesome DF's (especially Paramecia) was really one of the main attractions of this manga.....

I've always thought it strange that there hasn't been a "zip zip" or "zoom zoom" fruit, ie making the person really really quick.......I think that would be awsome, but personally I'm an Aoikiji fan, who wouldn't want to be an Ice ma hehe

reading a post by Imitorar in the tree of knowledge about the next new nakama made me realise something: exactly those two crewmembers who didn't get a numbered chapter yet - Chopper and Robin - were those who landed outside Grandline.
Not that it points into any direction, but maybe, just maybe they will get their chapters upon return from their adventure hardship outside GL?

That could be interesting. Robin was introduced before Chopper but Chopper joined up first.
