i think ace is prime(if he lives of course). also i think smoker nad his 2nd in command are perfect fits as well. smoker dislike the governing body of the WG, and i think he is on the borderline of becoming a pirate. maybe he helps luffy out during this arc, since he owes luffy one for saving his life

Smoker hates pirates, that's pretty much the first thing we learned about him. And he really doesn't owe Luffy anything. Letting Luffy go afterwards was, the way I understand it, his way of paying Luffy back, or so it seems. Remember what Smoker said when letting Luffy go? In case you don't, here's the page.

It seems even letting Luffy go after being saved was hard enough for Smoker to do, so I doubt he'll ever help Luffy to any further extent again, rather the opposite. He travelled all this way for the sole purpose of capturing Luffy, after all.

Sure, Smoker doesn't give a shit about his superiors, but he believes in justice and to maintain that justice I think he considers himself better off in the marines than in a pirate crew. I consider Smoker a good guy, too, but he's definitely an antagonist with the intent to stop Luffy from achieving his dream.

I mostly agree on that. Want to ad that it seems that Hanyabal also has a peculiar sence of justice, and so does Magellan, not?

@Gin: I don't think that's necessarily true; with Dragon being the Wolrd's Most Wanted man, it is obvious that Smoker would know who he was. Smoker was curious as to why Dragon would want to save Luffy as he's a pirate and Dragon's a revolutionary so he couldn't see how that would benefit him in any way or what connection if any they had...to which he simply replied "what reason do you have to stopping them?

do all the luffy's gang landing in different places make sense (didnt the skill send the person to somewhere he/she wants to go?) ? are they supposed to gain new skills or maybe later on bring their own "ship" with those inhabitants as crew to help luffy???

Nami sky island - guess she could learn a new wind attack of some sort...
Franky ice land - future city so perhaps franky can learn some new tricks?
Sanji - momoiro island - what can he possibly do there?
ussop - boin island - learn shooting skills? or maybe acquire some devil fruit that improves on his aim?
brook - poverty island - why there??
robin - labour camp????
chopper - torino kingdom???
zorro - kuraigana island - new weapon or technique?

There's a thread about that in the Tree.

Some think Sanji will actually be able to fight women after this, but I hope not since that's the most awesome part of his personality in my eyes. While he was still being chased some had the theory that all the running could make his legs stronger. I honestly don't know what to believe.

Nami's makes a lot of sense, since she has weather-based attack and she might improve greatly as a navigator if she understands the weather better.

Franky's at Vegapunk's lab so he is the one who seems most obvious to get an upgrade (and his technology skills will rise sky-high).

I have no clue about Usopp's island, though. Heracles seems to have some skill that involves long range attacks, though (the one he saves Usopp with a second time).

Brook: No idea. Since the satan-worshipers seem to want revenge on some other tribe, he might grant their wish and join and somehow..... no, really I have no clue.

Perona has taken Zoro's swords from him. That might be some hint, maybe he'll learn not to rely entirely on his swords and perhaps grow enough mental strength to withstand Perona's negativity.

Robin's met some revolutionaries so I suppose she might gain some.. knowledge of some sort from them?

As for Chopper, I have no idea. He's at an island where beasts (giant birds, to be exact) control humans so maybe.. he'll learn to control the beast his is able to become? Nope, I don't have a sensible guess here either.

I don't think they would ALL meet up at the Marine HQ. That seems really stupid and dangerous because last time they got beat so easily by just a few WG guys.

Maybe some show up or none and they end up meeting back up at that place where they left their ship (forget the name ).

They can't meet there cause not every Strawhat had his/her cover story yet.
Unless the whole cover stories are meant to be flashbacks and not current timeline there is no chance for anyone to get there.
IF the cover stories are flashbacks then Rayleigh has to be there because he had given all the Strawhats the Vivre Card. Otherwise why should they go to Marine Ford instead of Shabody Archipel?

Probably they were sent there to learn new skill or Kuma sent them their to get as far away from the war as possible. LOL! But in Zorro case he need somebody to look after so I guess Kuma sent him there so Parona can look after him, yeah right. haha. All the Strawhats are scatter across the globe how're they gonna get back to the grand line with just a normal ship, but I do think Kuma will go back to pick them all up as soon as he think it's the right time. Remember they all have Reileigh's vivre card not Luffy so they won't know where Luffy is unless Reileigh goes to Marine HQ.

Some funny thoughts came to me today reading some of the last few days posts...

What could Ussop be learning on his island?... Sniper skills? maybe. Get a DF? maybe, but these last two are too obvious for my taste. He could pick up special ammo on that island, like seed pods for nasty fast growing plants, or my personal favourite: he discovers something (gas/poison/plant sap etc...) that triggers the "fear reaction" in others and so can always make his enemy run away from him. This way he would always appear braver than his opponent.


Another funny thought that came to mind... what if after all this buildup, Whitebeard turns out to be like Buggy, all hype and no actual strength?

And then I remembered this scene. Oh well, it was still a funny thought.
