Yes emotions were definitely running high with the cannon, but the enemy was of a very low calibre. Against Crocodile, he was to the point of being ready to give his life up to win. That level of urgency never accumulated with a cannon attack.

Let's call this a draw. Storm and cannon are his two most powerful attacks, which are both used situationally. Storm would be stronger in some cases, and cannon would be stronger in others. Would you agree though that gear 3 gives cannon more potential than storm? If he ever figures out how to use them together that is.

Cannon is too relient on speed to ever be used in Gear third, which I see as being reserved for single devastating/finishing blows. Jet Cannon would be great though, I hope we get to see it soon.

Though a single Cannon shot might deal more damage to it's target than one of Storm's punches, the sheer number of them renders this a moot point. Cannon is, to an extent, a charged up Bazooka. Of course it can be a devastating move, but compared to it's duration and the amount of power put into it Storm is in a different league.

Cannon is not at all a charged up Bazooka. The Bazooka is an only punch with two hands whereas a Cannon is a multi-punch.

You seem to forget that a Storm and a Cannon are very similar at the origin : they both come from the Gatling Gun move.
Indeed These two attacks are special Gatling Gun :
- The Storm is a Gatling Gun using the centrifugal force
- The Cannon is a Gatling Gun concentrated in an unique point.

So, technically the numbers of punches are all the same if the attacks last the same time.

So, what can be said about these two attacks ?
The Storm is a special Gatling Gun that Luffy can only use in air and the Cannon a special Gatling Gun he can only use on the ground (to be able to concentrate all the punches in an unique point).

So, we can deduce the Storm is the best " air attack " of Luffy whereas the Cannon is the best " ground attack ".

About the Cannon, we know that the punches are as strong as the Gatling Gun but it is a better attack because the resistance of the point touched vanished because of the concentration of punches.
About the Storm, the punches are stronger because they had the centrifugal force but the resistance of the ennemy does not vanish as it happens with the Cannon.

So, technically the strenght (with his physic sense) of the Storm is more important than the Cannon's one.
But technically too, it does not mean the Storm is a better attack because the resistance is not so affected as it happens with the Cannon.
So, in terms of effects, the Storm can be less strong than the Cannon even if in terms of strenght it is better.

If you do not understand the resistance idea, remember when Luffy use some pistols to hit the same part of the Don Creek's spear : its resistance was not as effective as it was the first time because each punch affected the touched point and the damages were accumulated on an unique point.

Now, imagine the same thing with a Gatling Gun (it becomes a Cannon) : do you realise the better effects it had even if it the same strenght as a normal Gatling Gun (with the physic sense) ?

So, personnally, I think the Cannon is a better attack because of the special effects it had.

Only the final blow actually connects with the opponent. The rest are just used to build up speed, hence me referring to it as a charged up bazooka.

Okay, so granted calling it a bazooka is a bit of a stretch (No pun intended) considering Luffy doesn't even pull his arms back. So yeah, it does seem like it's more closely related to Gatling.

The random character that appeared at the end of the chapter is more likely to be the healer of the poison. And I don't think Luffy knows what he did because all he did was shout "Get back!" and then he fainted straight afterwards. However, Mr. 2 did see it so he will probably tell Luffy.

I was thinking about shakki lately and what sort of ability she might have. Obviously she is based on spiders and I looked up some information on them to see what sort of ability she could have.
I saw 2 things about her that I found interesting:
1.-She was extorting those two random guys.

2.- She "guessed" choopers favorite food was cotton candy.

I also found information which said in some cultures spiders could sense your fears or something along the lines. Something like that would be fantastic for someone who wants to extort you. I dont think shakkis power is mind reading though. My theory is that she has the ability to read the "heart" or "feelings" of people. I know it sounds corny and everything but I think it is highly probable.

I think that probably had to do with the fact that his wanted poster refers to him as a "cotton candy lover." It's common knowledge and she keeps herself well informed.

who says zoro will develop haki? i do!!!!!! he just has to be, luffy and zoro were always regarded as the strongest ones and even the supernovas admited that zoro was incredibly strong and that he had an aura or something like that. and just think about wat blackbeard said to them when they got out of the bar all beaten up. and if luffy is to become pirate king, his second mate would have to rival the ex pirate kings second mate.

i dont think sanji will tho. hes so strong and obviously has incredible superhuman strenght but i think thats all there will be to it. id just think itd be to much if sanji could use haki. well wtv well just have to see.

He might just! His will is just as strong as Luffy's (Kuma gave him all luffy's pain plus what he already had; he took it like a man and was still standing) so it makes sense if he develops Haki as well. Not King's Haki though, That's luffy's alone

ya definately not kings haki. like i dont think people with kings haki will let other people lead them, like they have the power to rule countries so like why would they let people boss them around. me and my brother thought that he might have like a dark haki, something like that cause hes seen as a devil.

Now hold on, we don't enough about Haki to just dismiss the idea of Sanji ever being able to use it. We know some of the Amazons could use it, and Sanji could probably beat the- okay bad example. Still, his will is certainly stronger than their's. Considering the self control required to abide by his chivalrous code, and his unwavering faith in the existence of All Blue, I would consider him one of the more determined members of the Straw Hat crew.

ya for sure sanji has the will to use haki, thats no doubt about it. but like i just dont think he will use it. i hope he does but i really dont think hell use it. for me zoro and luffy are by far the 2 strongest guys in the crew, but sanji is not far behing right now. so in order to see the difference of power between sanji and zoro, i think its gonna be haki. but wtv well just have to wait and see.

And it's also true that Sanji is a Chef first and a combatant second, so I guess it only makes sense for Zoro to be stronger. I see were you're coming from.

And on the subject of Shakky, I think the whole spider thing is just part of a Black Widow motif. Black Widow's are often used to symbolize powerful female characters, so it would sort of make sense. I don't think it has anything to do with an ability though.

No, you couldn't. I'm not talking in terms of position within the crew, but in terms of occupation/specialty. Sanji is Cook, he was a cook before he joined the Straw Hats. He didn't just become a chef because they needed one. Even his fighting style, Red Leg, was developed specifically to protect the hands, a chef's livelihood.

Just a couple things I was wondering about with this week's episode on TV that was a little different than in manga: Am I mistakenor did Zoro use Haki in the one scene where the bounty hunters surrounded him?

And also about the new open: Maybe it's just me, but I thinkt suggests that Luffy will fail to rescue Ace.
