Well, in the past Sengoku might have known who is Garp little kid, might have not. Now it isn't relevant. Since Garp's visit to Water7 every marine and his uncle are aware, what a family the Monkeys are. It's not even an assumption, it's a fact

Those at Water 7 were marines loyal to Garp and Gallela guys loyal to the SHs. Shakky who has knowledge of current events didn't even know for sure that he is the grandson of Garp. The name Dragon wasn't even mentioned. That just proves that the public doesn't know anything about them. About Sengoku, well I do believe he knows it. But I simply can't imagine the old 5 dudes knowing.

Anyway, we don't have any facts, otherwise we wouldn't waste any time in this discussion.

Just thought of a quick topic for the convo thread whilst posting in the spoiler thread, don't feel it deserves a tree of knowledge thread, but we'll see:

Since early on in the manga, we've always had an idea that Luffy will have a person to defeat as a final boss. Who it is could still be anyone's guess, but that's for another thread.

Not long from the start we were introduced to the indisputable final boss for Zoro in the form of Mihawk.

But what about the rest of the Strawhat's? Most of them don't have someone living to aim for, though most have something to aim for. But will they have a final boss of their own? And if so, who do you expect it to be?

well that´s a really good question i haven´t think about that , but i don´t think they will have a final boss except for zoro and Mihawk , not even luffy has one, i believe they are going to go as now , the ones that interpose in his way are they enemies

I always had the idea that the final foes are natured after their dream. I mean in Luffy's case is BB a rival; both want to be PK. Zoro's goal is the best swordsman, Mwk.

So just like that, I believe Oda will shape them after their dreams. Sanji will maybe fight a cook, whereby the battle will be related to the All Blue. Ussop has to proof his bravery in a frontal fight, not dirty tricks etc. And so on ..

just some thoughts, It not like I care for the other. In some dreams I can't even see a enemy.

That's a very interesting question. But I don't think that there have been any "final boss" characters introduced as yet for any of the Straw Hats other than Luffy and Zoro. And in fact, I don't think that there ever will be, because I don't think that there need to be. Zoro wants to be the strongest swordsman in the world, which means that to get the title, he needs to defeat the current holder, so as to have his superiority recognized. Luffy is the main character, and the hero of a story traditionally has an antagonist. That's just how stories work.

But the other Straw Hats are not bound to having a specific person to defeat, either by their respective dreams, as Zoro is, or by the rules of stories, as Luffy is. They will fight powerful opponents as their final battles, but there will probably not be any build up to their fighting those specific characters, except perhaps as old rivals from previous battles. But nothing special like there is between Zoro and Mihawk. (And, I would argue, Luffy and Blackbeard, but I'm putting that in parentheses because some people don't agree with it, and to be fair, it hasn't been outright stated in the manga yet that Blackbeard is the final enemy for Luffy).

I agree, apart from Zoro and Luffy I don't see any other member of the crew having a "final boss". Take Ussop for example, his dream is to be a "brave warrior of the sea", but that doesn't mean he has to fight anyone in particular in order for people/him to recognise that he's a brave warrior. This final boss thing only applies to Luffy and Zorro because for them to achieve their dreams, they have to overcome obstacles which are people...Maybe be in order for Luffy to achieve his dream, his crew would have to fight the "final boss"'s crew, but apart from that, I don't think so either.

you guys are right. the SH Crew will have to fight against the crew of whoever the strongest is. but i believe that by the end of the series we will see much more powerful people and maybe the crew members will state that there is a certain someone they must over power. Usopp wants to be a brave warrior but its more than that, he also wants to be the best sniper he can be, and same thing with Sanji to get to his goal he will have to defeat the ones that stand in his way, and there might be ONE person that guards the sacred sea that he wants to see.

Changing topics, Oda claimed this arc will last this entire year<-----FACT!!! do you guys think they will be in ID for most of the year, which they basically already have??

From what I can remember, Oda didn't actually specify which arc would last the year. It could be the Impel Down arc by itself or the whole Save Ace arc with Impel Down and Marineford (presuming Luffy does go there) with it.

the whole Save Ace arc is more than an Arc its like a mini saga if you look at it. at the pace this is goin i believe they will be in ID for another month maybe even two, and then once they get out they still have to defeat the people that are right outside ID and then somehow get to Marineford without being detected. i really want to see the true power of the Yonkou.

Hmm, on the final bosses thing:

I get what you're saying with most of the Strawhat's dreams culminating in an action other than being stated as the strongest. Minus Luffy and Zoro, the other Strawhat's have dreams that are not dictated by their power or through a fight.

However, I disagree with the fact that the "final enemy" the strawhat's may face will have little to no build up. I still believe that the Strawhat's will each prove their dedication to their dream through a final battle against someone. Whether we've met this character yet and whether they as direct an obstacle to their dream as Mihawk is to Zoro is unknown at this point.

For example, if the All Blue was in Raftel, Sanji will be near unstoppable against whoever he fights last to reach his dream. But who would he fight last to make it more than underling #515 vs Sanji?

But yeah, in general I believe there isn't really anything for us to go on at the moment. I mean, I can guess who some of the Blackbeard crew could fight in the Strawhat's and I could guess Ussop to Yassop or Chopper to Vegapunk, but right now there's no real build up to lead us to believe this.

Still, something I'm constantly thinking about as chapters flow on by.

Of course no one is going to face someone weak, but they have to prove their might and if luffy wants the strongest crew ever than they each will have to be the best in what they do. Chopper vs VegaPunk is actually pretty possible if you ask me. on a current thread, do u believe that WB along with the other Yonkou will be able to rescue Ace and even possibly destroy the WG HQ.

Chopper vs VegaPunk is actually pretty possible if you ask me.

Actually i believe SH crew + Blackbeard vs Vegapunk will be the endfight. Somehow i got a strange feeling about this doctor, he made pacifistas, then those awakened Zoanfruits... he knows more over the devilfruits as anybody else. Why not think he is the devil and wants to throw the world into chaos?

Just think about his security, how could Chopper get to him? There a lot of Pacifistas, the entire SHcrew could only beat one... then sentoumaro, the wg covers him too.

Don't want to interrupt the discussion, but I have a quick question.

I'm coloring a small pic of a Shiryuu at the moment but I have no idea what those things that cover his ears are? Or rather, what color and stuff they are? If anyone knows, I'd be grateful for some help.

Maybe something like the things on the ears of water polo caps? it would fit the underwater theme of ID and imo with the Blugori as good swimmers why shouldn't Shiryuu also be one...
On the other hand it could be anything else from protecting the ears to headphones (for whatever reason)
