One Piece Mega Convo Thread, the 2nd Chapter

Oda is extremely ambiguous with flashing Haki use. So it's pretty tough to know and tell when someone uses Haki, whether it be Zoro or an Admiral. But i think we just have to use our best judgement of a characters stature and or future stature, in order to determine if they do or could possibly possess signs of early Haki. So i wouldn't be surprised at all if Zoro did show signs of Haki at some point.

it's not really Odas fault imo. ever since "Haki" popped up people kept jumping to conclusions about who has it and where it might have been used even before we knew it existed and so on. now in this example of zoro 'using' it (to use something usually requires knowledge, otherwise it's just luck - the same thing that happend between Luffy and Motobaro) everything this is based on seems to be anime, right? but anime is not directly Oda and anime has lots of fillery stuff even in otherwise 'canon' episodes

This episode 395 reminded me of something though. Garp was heading to deal with Rayleigh. It's possible that he was at Shabondy and that he talked to Rayleigh. He could have left for SA before Luffy caused a disaster and then came anyway, or he could have heard that his grandson is involved and had to go.
Anyway, that part of the story always seemed loose ended to me. But it could just as well be nothing.

This episode 395 reminded me of something though. Garp was heading to deal with Rayleigh. It's possible that he was at Shabondy and that he talked to Rayleigh. He could have left for SA before Luffy caused a disaster and then came anyway, or he could have heard that his grandson is involved and had to go.

Nah, I don't think so, it's just a look of someone strong ... a look of a bad guy, there are some guys who scare the s**t out of other people by just a look, without doing anything strange just ... just ... just by being themselves, and we can find these cases in the real world/life.

just think about it for a sec. the way garp said luffy was corrupted by shanks, leads me to believe dadan wasnt a pirate. garp trusted dadan enough to trust him with ace and luffy, so im sure dadan know who their fathers were. if you remember, luffy alrady had shanks hat when he went to live with dadan, so from the time kong told garp dont go after rogers in chapter 0, at least 10 years had past until he starting keeping luffy.

im sure kong had retired within 10 years. dadan trained luffy and ace how to fight, so im sure he had some fighting ability. garp wanted luffy and ace to become great marines, so it would make sense for garp to leave them with a strong marine. if he were raising 2 young boys, then that marine would have to have been retired.

also if you read chapter 0, it seemed like oda went out of his way to introduce kong.

which all leads me to believe kong is dadan.

i dont think it would be a bad idea if some of the strawhats (namely sanji, zoro, and usopp) could use haki. a lot of people can use haki in the one piece world. it would expain sanji and zoro's freakish strength. also would be cool of ussop could imbed haki into his projectiles.

We're talking about a FLEET ADMIRAL here. Can you imagine Aokiji making Sengoku watch his kids after retirement? Just dropping his kids to Sengoku and going off to hunt pirates.

Garp pissed off Kong probably a bunch of times and then Kong retired, went to East Blue and then Garp came along and dumped first Ace and then Luffy for him to raise.

Also, by your count Kong must have retired pretty quickly after we saw him. In the next 2 years. Just saying.

I can't wait for Kong to be revealed as just a retired old guy.

And I CAN wait for Dadan to be revealed. The longer I wait to see exactly who Dadan is, the more obviously awesome it's going to be. If it gets revealed anytime in the next 100-200 chapters I will be a bit disappointed.

Oda has plenty of time to spend on already established characters to actually give their battles more depth. The major reason I'm disastisfied with the war (aside from the cluster fuck and filler pages) is because, outside of unnecessary fanboys clinging to the 1 dimensional shot of most characters, we actually don't care about most of the people in this fight. I mean, name three people in this battle we actually know a lot about? And I don't mean "We know Garp is Luffy's grandfather and he's strong". I love Garp, but he's still less developed than great villains like Lucchi or great allies like Waipa.

Anyway, went off the KongxDadan topic. Not really a topic is it? Got more evidence Dadan is Garp's shadow with the sword than Kong. Got more evidence both of the unseen Yonkou can combine to make a giant power ranger mech. Got more evidence pwngoat is Rayleigh.

But please, continue having fun with this. I'm going to keep looking forward to the Fishman Island arc where Jimbei and WB's remaining crew regroup against the marines special task force that aims to block the hole in the red line from pirate passage.

You know you just were sarcastic of yourself ehehe. My argument was intended to be so stupid as possible. It was made to illustrate how pointless it is without evidence and just by random facts to make a logical conclusion that is wacked. The same goes for Dadan and Kong.
