because Perona's power is not way too broken. because there are too many tough nuts in new world who can crush Perona, what if any one who posses enough haki can neutralize the effect of negative ghost?
what if those tough nuts in new world knew the power of negative ghost,therefore will strike Perona first before she has a chance to make her shot?

what if the theory about Perona can only release 4 negative ghosts in one single shot is true? then the rest of those tough nuts can chop her into small pieces before she make a second shot.

I just thought of something while reading some of the eariler chapters, both croc and gecko said that luffy did not know pain does anyone think he does now.

I could think of something like the job the divers did (the ones of Masira and Shojo). A fishman could search the ocean for treasures, fish for Sanji or (s)he could just look out for other enemies while the crew is "captured" in their coated Thousand Sunny.
I wonder if most of the Fishmen and Fishwomen look like Jimbei or Tom ('cause of their size)
Oh and the thing about the manifestation of Haki into several techniques sounds really interesting for me. I'm sure there are a lot of pirates in the New World which can do things like that (and of course like Zoro).

Look Arlong arc again. They vary a lot. For example the merman who Sanji fought had some distinctive features, not to mention Hacchi and Arlong. But some background mermen are pretty interesting as well.

What we haven't seen much of are mermaids. Caimie and that old ugly hag from Water 7 isn't really much. I hope not all of them (when they get their legs seperated) turn to be ugly and manly and muscular...

THANKS. I've been waiting for someone to say this.

Oda surprised us many times already and most of the times the so called "rules" get broken. I think that the most logical thing to not call everyone a new crew member is that they usually appear in the same arc they will join.
And more and less for each instance that Luffy gets trough it.

I agree with the Merman theory that hangs around the forums, I think that some Mermen will join the SHs after they save the island.

"Shounen Era" -> "Seinen Era"?! OP is leaving Shounen Jump... WTF! Is that again some Hunter X Hunter troll - probably the same that wanted to tell us, that OP is going on a three month hiatus?

BTW... Current issue is No. 19 (with Chapter 580), No. 20 (with Chapter 581), is the next one and officially published... tomorrow on Monday, wasn't it? No. 21-22 (with Chapter 582), then is the Golden Week double issue with is published next week.

Shonen is for young adults (13-17). Seinen is for adults. I tried to read a Seinen (Vagabond) once but you could easily see the difference from One Piece, Bleach or Naruto.

Try Berserk and Gantz. Berserk is my favorite manga of all time but it has erratic releases. Very few but its an amazing story and the art is phenomenal. I dare say it even beats One Piece's story line. :X

seems like a pretty arbitrary distinction. one piece to me seems like spiderman/batman type stuff

so is seinen more like the watchmen or maus? and if it is how do you classify it(by what criteria)?

occasionally one piece has some pretty heavy themes. just like some of the marvel and dc stuff

I really want to see Enel again! I hope he returns to the main story in the future. It would awesome if we see him towards the end of the NW adventures, maybe near Raftel?

Or he may land on Raftel from space!? xD

something that interested me was we got to see some of the other supernova's crewmen in the background last chapter. hawkins has a giant human cat on his squad.

seems like most of the supernova have at least the same amount if not more than the strawhats.

YEAH! I noticed that too. I started to draw because of him/her/it! I really enjoyed the design of most of the crew members we saw.
We now know that:
Apoo has a girl in his squad. A fat man with a crazy mustache and an afro guy.
Drake has an old man with him. With a weird old fashioned cape. Also a triangle-mustache guy that I think we already saw.
Capone's Ship has a tower on the front.
Uroge has three member that resembles some religions: Judaism (The guy with the thing on the head that I can't remember the name) a monk of some sort (Hinduist, I think) a christian guy with a cross on his chest (And LOL, a bahamas-like shirt and cap) and if we pay more attention, a shinto guy with some counts on his hands and a typical male-kimono.
Boney has a member with two drills instead of ears, a fat guy with a sword that resembles (I think) Fukurou of CP9. Another guy with a tattoo on his hand. I think that most of her crew are big mens to contrast her appearance.
Hawkings has the awesome cat guy, and two other with face unseen that still shows some "wizardy" feature, like shaman feather skirts and bones as necklace.
We already kinda knew about Kid Pirates and Heart Pirates only show their submarine aside of the 4 members we already know.

PS: Excuse me, I don't know all the names of the things I'm referring too. Be free to correct me.
