One Piece Mega Convo Thread, the 2nd Chapter

With the whole scanning disbute has their been some sort of agreement to release spoilers and scans on a wednesday rather than the range from sunday-tuesday? I remember last Golden week i think or a one piece break before we got the chapter released on the sunday

I think the 2 guys who were releasing them early worked for shonen jump. I heard they got caught and was put on probation. I think the reason they were caught is because someone put the early spoiler on youtube like always and that how they were caught. Since then we have only been getting the spoilers since late Tuesday early Wednesday morning.

BB has the biggest dexterity in all of one piece. In short period of time he took blast from Magellan, WB slash. direct close hit by WB power and Sengoku's blast and in the end he just had a little blood around his mouth

That's not dexterity, that's toughness. Blackbeard's dexterity is pretty fucking bad. Well, I'd imagine he can't do many fine movements with his hands.
Also, I don't think he's the toughest around, even now that Whitebeard is dead. Frankly, what Blackbeard went through is not more impressive than what Luffy and Zoro have went through. Well, not to me anyway.

Blackbeard looks tough for me. He took a blank shot from Whitebeard attack... I mean, he killed two giant Vice-Admirals (Ronse and John Giant) with ease with the same attack...

Yeah sometimes I wonder about that myself. Either way I do hope spoilers come out at least Tuesday. I don't even bother looking at spoilers if they come on Wednesday morning. I just wait for the scans at night.

So even if Luffy was tought in haki usage, I don't think he would have an easy time against neither Magma, Ice nor Light nor Sengoku's Buddha fist that punched him out of Gear 3 Fuusen. Not even experienced fighters like Marco, Jozu and Vista were able to cause more than some nuisance to logia users.



I actually believe we've seen Luffy using haki way before even hearing its name. Remember when Blueno said something about that Luffy's Gomu Gomu no Rifle in Enies Lobby was much stronger than his kick back in the Galley-La headquarters since it broke through his Tekkai? There's some panel right before Luffy's attack connected (Ch.388 p.12 - upper left panel) that made me curious. There is a similar one when he was about to hit Blackbeard (Ch. 544 p.04 - mid-right panel) - some moments before Blackbeard mentions that Luffy's haki has improved.

How could haki usage be more or less boring than insert-random-df-power? It's like anything else in One Piece a tool to make the story progress how Oda intends it to go on.

Good eye. Never picked up those two panels.. Indeed shows some "other" force at play.. Very nice. Naturally Haki is only but an element of one's overall power and ability. I'm actually stuck on the Idea of Luffy "vulcanizing" his fists and feet.. maybe?

If anything I guess the "post war" Luffy will have a "deeper" pool from which to draw power and toughness. If Luffy is going to truly become the Pirate King (obviously.) then he will have to have the ability, strength, mastery of his DF, Understanding of his rare Haki.. and simply maturity...... So it's a long road ahead.. a long road.

Wow, I just realized today how Luffy got his scar.
I was thinking «How can Luffy have a scar, if he's made of rubber... that means he got it before he ate the fruit, right?»
I went back to the first chapter and saw that he actually stabbed himself in the face!!!

Haha. I loved the Red Hair Pirates' reaction to it all.

Even better, was how Luffy "pretended" that it didn't hurt at all in the end. Geez, just by looking back at chapter one, Lucky Roo really has grown BIG over the years! Damn. Stronger than Jozu!?

I've been reading onepiece for a while now and anyone familiar with the Illuminati and the new world government might be able to see a link. Oda used lots of references of this world here. And by that, I MEAN MANY. Historical tibdits here and there are winks that Oda lefts behind.

Anyway, you can relate it with the thing you know the most...But basically you can relate it with almost every part of our history in almost every country. :/ Exactly what He used as reference, that remains in Oda's desk.

apparently there is some type of contest, but what is interesting is a color spread that the contestants receive from oda.

in it shows all of the strawhats drawn in a very different manner....the interesting part is that their is a sillihouette of a character sshown with a hood on saying NEW. i think that confirms that the strawhats will get a new member

That is pretty cool! Most interesting part, and maybe this has something to do with that show it was shown on, but excluding sunny there are 11 crewmembers!! shown in the picture!

EDIT: The hooded guy in the middle has a big NEW on his hood. Come on... that has to be about a new crew member.
