Well, been thinking about this one as well. I currently like the theory of Domi Reversi being ultimately the reason behind Harald‘s death and the 100 giants that died by his side. I figure that Loki has a unique trait (maybe Haki) maybe something else that made him immune to Imu‘s “spell“. Also I‘ve been wondering if the sword stuck in Jarul‘s head was a trick used by Loki (a bit like Momonga blocking the Mero Mero powers with pain) to prevent Domi Reversi from affecting the former.

As we know it now, yes. But he claims to be a Sun God, and we know Haki cancels out DF ability. I assume this will be a factor in him defying Imu and fighting alongside Luffy.

Hm, I don't really have a clear picture of how this is going to go down, but I really doubt Luffy and Loki don't end up fighting.

The easiest connections to make with Elbaf are probably Thriller Bark (Oars and the Ancient giant lore) and Whole Cake Island (Linlin and her past), so is it really a coincidence that both arcs had Luffy fight against a "bigger" version of himself? Oars had his shadow/powers and Katakuri had a fruit that could do the same stuff he could (at the time).

The avenue I could be missing is Imu playing that part with a reverse Nika angle, but I don't really see it... there's too much potential being wasted.

The least expected development would actually be Luffy turning into a demon, and I do believe the panel that had Robin question the "X" mark on Nika's arm is alarming in that regard, and we'd have StrawHats vs Oars, but better. Perhaps this one is a bit too edgy, but I would be very surprised if at least one more meaningful character doesn't turn into a demon. (my bet's always been on Sanji turning antagonist, years prior to this, but I finally see the angle)

I will give you that. Robin did a good job, but usopp, nami, and chopper have been useless since Fishman island

Just accept it. They have stopped growing and probably wont in the future. At this point, they are just passengers in terms of firepower. Still useful in terms of being a shipmate in their respective roles. Oda doesnt have the screentime and creative juice to invest more into the rest of the crew. This is why you see Ussop still shooting skeleton smoke bombs, Chopper with his Kungfu point or monster point (tbh, monster point is super uncreative and just a asspull) and Nami gets Zeus, basically just a powerup to her original Clima-Tact abilities now done by a comical mascot.

I don't believe Harald was turned evil by Imu. If so, Imu should be aware of Loki being the heir.
But, the circle in the castle, Shamrock knowing about Loki and suggesting him to the Gorosei to making him into the Holy knights and Somers talking about Harald as an old friend suggest that there is a link between Harald and the WG (the CD the be more precise) which may be the reason why Loki did what he did if he really dit it.

Despite gathering the books from Ohara 22 years ago, the Giants don't seem to be aware of the Void Century. I'm guessing this is limited to only a few, which would include king Harald, who was killed 14 years ago. He may have decided to ally with the World Government to guarantee Elbaph or his family would survive the cleansing, but Loki realized Harald was wrong about it. Part of this also revolved around Harald's Devil Fruit, which Loki now possess.

Would be very disappointing if the books are completely destroyed. Any idea if that devil fruit that gigantifies them keeps a copy it can replicate later?

Anyways, I'd take a good look at the cover story and the Yokozuna face, I'm fairly convinced we're about to see a lot more of those "inverted" type of visuals.

If the others can't use Haki, they can't do anything as far as I can see.

It's such a missed opportunity that Robin's flashback in Wano didn't incorporate use of Haki or some training to control it... yet she somehow defeated a Haki user. Robin and Brook are people who should at the very least be competent Haki users, even Franky and this is the bare minimum given their long history of combat.
Usopp and Nami are just sorry to look at, they've become gag at this point and it's a sorry sight.

I think Loki will still be the main villain.
Imu is too big of a villain to fall, more so he's only exerting his strength by proxy of Gunko whom I believe Luffy and co. will defeat.
Once the HK are defeated, I think Loki will fight with Luffy as the main villain.
His goal after-all is to destroy the world and this is just an opportunity.

Sadly, this theme of the lackeys being useless has been a recurring theme for way too long. WCI, Wano, Egghead, now Elbaph. Oda could change it, but the longer he prolongs what should be a basic skill in the New World, the more any powerup related to haki looks like an asspull.

Most of their posts are about how much they don’t like it. It’s a combination of low IQ, lack of awareness, and non existent common sense combined with a deep masochistic urge to punish themselves with content they don’t enjoy.
