Streusen is one of the most vile villains in the entire series for that, and it just got really glossed over. At least he's clearly never portrayed as anything but a piece of shit, but damn not a single character was like "hey that's really, really fucked up and gross, that thing you did".

It only says they knew Clover. Robin's mom was away from Ohara for quite a while. Even if they witnessed the Buster Call when Olivia returned home, she was only back for like what, a day?

That's one of the reasons why I love WCI and BM's backstory. So much darkness underneath so much silliness. Excellent story telling.

Vegapunk, Dragon, Olvia/Clover. There has to have been some great event for this generation to become so invested in peeling off the secrecy of the world at approximately the same time. 800 years and only now did a competent resistance army arise. 800 years and only now did historians seriously start uncovering the history of the world. 800 years and only now did a scientist emerge invested in technology of the past.

I still think Rox/God Valley is what trigged Dragon, but I can't see how it would affect the rest. It's going to be interesting to see if there's some inciting incident.

Easily my favorite villain backstory in the series so far, and it's not even close. Out of all the problems I had with Kaidou as a character, having a compelling enough backstory to match Big Mom's would've been the one thing to make up for everything else I didn't like. Unfortunately, we got the scraps that we got.
