But every arc is in some sense a "rescue arc"?

Dresrossa for that princess (forgot her name). WCI for Sanji. Wano for citizens in general (esp for Otama and Scabbards).
Yeah, there were other factors and motivators too. But the "rescue" aspect was a very important motivator for Luffy, it made Luffy have stake and made things personal for him.

I would agree with you that, I wouldn't be a fan of a 2nd Robin rescue.
But, it happening for Sabo and/or Boa is very much a real possibility, and it wouldn't be too bad. Yeah, Luffy doesn't like the govt and Tenryubito, but he wouldn't actively move against them if things aren't personal for him.

I agree. Almost every arc has been either a rescue/liberation arc and I think Chopper and Usopp are the only strawhats that didn't actively needed to be freed/rescued in some way during the story.

Nothing wrong with rescuing, it should be a part of every arc.

The idea that a group of people can go into combat and 1 of them wouldn't need saving or rescuing? Seems very unrealistic. They're going up against a country's entire army.

There's rescuing, and then there's a rescue arc. To be honest, I'm not fussed if it's a rescue arc. As long as the arc is interesting. And it's a combat based manga... they have enemies, it's not that big a deal in my opinion.
The story just has to be interesting and unique in its own way which One Piece arcs generally are; Robin being saved was not the same as Sanji being saved.

Hope it is fake. It may be a side effect of Gear 5, but it is too similar to Roger
Also not a fan of another save your brother act. I think we had that with Ace and that was enough. Besides, one of the reasons why that arc was great was because the cast was different as well.

i say many many times.. G5 was not free and that it run in something more valuable than Haki... LifeForce... thats the price.
