Can someone explain me how spoiler providers giving hints protect them better than providing spoilers? There is also a time and date when they post the hints.

My understanding is that spoilers are straightforward. Also, spoilers=leaks. And leaks attract attention of those directly related to the magazine.
Unlike spoilers, hints have many interpretations and only few people can guess it right and they are themselves interpretations (of the providers on the chapter). Hints shouldn't be taken seriously unless there is a spoiler in disguise among them. Also, with hints, it's hard to trace the leakers

Less ways to trace them back to the actual leaker. Attracts less attention. Hints are vague, leaks/spoilers are dangerous for sites like this and the people who leak them (imagine a situation where there are like 5 people in an office and there’s a leak; it’s really easy to narrow down who leaked info) - I think there are legal ramifications depending on NDA’s and Japanese laws.
This all ties in to an event a while ago where someone leaked actual spoilers way before we were supposed to get them, and I believe some people in Japan caught wind of it. There was a whole thing about it on at least 2 websites this one included and a post was created [on mangahelpers] condemning these leaks arriving so early since it can more or less get people in trouble and potentially a site like this shut down (I don’t know the exact legal consequences to this - since I only glanced at the post condemning overly early leaks).

Edit: I could be wrong but I think way back when FT and a few other mangas had their usual release dates changed in the west due to constant leaks, so the online manga we received was translated later. So instead of a weekly Monday release it was Wednesday/Friday.

Something of an explanation. Pics and summaries are copyrighted material so dropping them too early paints a huge target on your back. Meanwhile hints still give desperate One Piece-junkies their fix somewhat (and grows your account, I suppose is an important aspect) without Shueisha being able to legally act upon it.

Suppose it's all about whether Shueisha wants to take them to court (not literally but ykwim) when the people reading the spoiler summary is just a fraction of the fanbase anyway... think they focus their legal efforts on scanl*tion groups/sites and stopping whoever leaks the full RAWs to them. But I'm just guessing.

The moment we found out where the hell is the last phoneglyph that small but insanely important piece of info.. is goin to define the last arc and the whole idea idea of the grand final of one piece.. i say his mere location is goin to cause major hype.. at least for me...
and i belief #1060 could be the chapter for that... they cant be fooling around any more time.. without knowing where to go.. specially for the readers.. it have been stalled already too long.. from the moment they beat kaido until now.. with partys and sillyness

Maybe it's been explained, but why do they need more than three points to locate Raftel? (I prefer the old spelling, even if it's not accurate.) If it was a list of stops or directions, I could understand, but they said, or at least implied, that it was triangulation.

Maybe it's been explained, but why do they need more than three points to locate Raftel? (I prefer the old spelling, even if it's not accurate.) If it was a list of stops or directions, I could understand, but they said, or at least implied, that it was triangulation.

Probably each poneglyph reveal a part of the coordinations that make you have all 4 parts and combine them

They give you the first and last three for free, but for the rest you need a Viz subscription or to buy the manga volume. Hyping up the most recent chapter probably helps them promote the manga and act as free advertising so long as some serious lines aren't crossed.

I wish they'd tell us "BORING. 1/10. Worst chapter in a while" then we're pleasantly surprised with a 10/10. Lol.

Also, I feel like their hype metrics are a bit different than mine.

Indeed. They raise our expectations. And usually the higher our expectations are, the bigger our disappointment will be. And what makes a good chapter differs from a person to another one.
People seem to not learn their lesson (from the arc of Wano) to lower their expectations and let Oda do his work and appreciate every chapter.
